What may be simple to you is not to everyone. I need a manual or help. I have the files on the hammerhead website but the unit will not see these routes. My understanding is that when unit is online it auto downloads routes. It's connected to WiFi why won't it download routes. And where's the 24 7 chat. I've waited since may, don't feel I should have to wait for couple days for email. I like the unit but no manual is bad.

A PDF manual is an absolute must.

Even user-friendly devices need manuals and the good ones have them.  It may be intuitive to all at Hammerhead but it's an oversight to think it will be the same for all users.

I'm surprised you're asking this question. Do it and move on to something else.

Utterly ridiculous not having a manual, I've wasted hours trying to establish what the unit can, and can't do. It took 8 months for delivery, at this rate it will take me another 8 months to configure and understand it. I'm really unimpressed.

A good way to shoot yourself in the foot with a new product startup is by not including a detailed manual with the product.  Print is nice, a PDF is a hell of a lot better than nothing at all.

'Fraid as a technical author myself, well used to online and on-device electronic help files, I do know for an absolute fact that a pdf manual detailing initial setup, expanding all features of the device right through to hints and tips and aftercare is not just a "nice to have".

Despite it being the 21st century, most people would prefer to have a printed manual (even if it needs to be a diy print from a pdf file). You can't just flick back and forth through on-screen detailed instructions and expect to remember where you saw that important key press sequence detailed.

Besides that, its too windy, snowy and cold to go riding here now my Karoo has arrived (bloody typical after waiting since July) and I want to keep warm with my feet up and a good book - or instruction manual (hint hint!) to read.

It definitely needs some kind of manual would save having the same question asked over and over and would make setup and and first time using more friendly experience

It should contain at a minimum the URL to a PDF user manual. Not the laughably inadequate version 1.2 document that is currently available on the website, which gives little more information than how to turn the device on and perform some basic setup.  As Bernie Pottrell stated, it needs to contain detail initial setup, expanding all features of the device.

Frankly, I think this is all hype.  Very little information about what Karoo actually does.  No user manual, no data about real features, no nothing.  I asked a question about features and got back an answer that it has all the usual bike features.  Not helpful.  I want to know about specific features, like how many bikes can use it? Will it record certain records? What data does it record and show?  What totals will it show?  Won't touch it until I can read a user's manual and see these things.

Concur that a manual / user guide is needed. I often refer to guides. To save a on printing, PDF file will more than suffice which we all can download.

People who don't want to waste time just guessing perhaps?
