Will Karoo have the capability to connect and control smart trainers like Wahoo Kikr and Tacx neo?

I cannot get the Karoo to connect to my Fitbit Ionic nor my Android phone.

Rlagden, what sensor do you have?
Please make sure batteries are fresh and you have woken up all the sensors. ANT+ sensors typically have a very short cycle time from idle to sleep in order to conserve battery.
Note that you can disable and re-enable the ANT+ or Bluetooth radios at the top of the sensors app.

Doug, we know the timing for trainers is now and I am equally trapped indoors on my trainer with Zwift, Trainer Road, Sufferfest and Xert (Trying them all out). We have a bit of a backlog on the core features before we can pick up trainer control. That does not mean we are simply writing it off. Customers may speak louder than our software roadmap.
As of now we are hoping to get to this before the next winter trainer season or earlier.

Paul, that is particularly odd. Does the sensor app not look like this?

I am assuming you have run an update and done a reset?

Otherwise there is a software or hardware issue on your unit.

I only had Bluetooth showing until I did the update.

Got my Karoo today! Love it! Like Margaret, though, my Karoo BT doesn't find my Fitbit Blaze. I'm using its wrist-based HR monitor and would love to transmit that to the Karoo.

Glen Stowers unfortunately I have never received a response and am still unable to connect to my Fitbit or my phone.

Not that I'd rule it out....I'd love to connect my FitBit as well.  Hate using a chest strap.  But I checked and cannot find my FitBit via BlueTooth without the fitbit app.  I'd put Karoo Connectivity on my wish list thought.

I agree love my Karoo, would love the option to also connect to my Fitbit Ionic.
It runs off Bluetooth so not sure why the Karoo doesn't pick it up.

Still no answer on how to connect to the Fitbit or smartphone.  I've done all software updates and Karoo doesn't pick up either one and my phone doesn't pick up the Karoo either.  How does one get an answer from the folks at Karoo?  I thought they are listening to users all the time based on their site hype but seeing that this isn't really true.  If I can't see anything on my smartphone, this is pretty useless since my Garmin actually worked perfectly in that regard.

Margaret and other Fitbit owners, thanks for being a part of our customers and good to have you asking questions.

FitBit unfortunately made a business decision to restrict the connection of their devices to only their apps and did not implement the standard bluetooth profile

The Fitbit watches are not able to pair to external Heart Rate straps or show up as a standard Bluetooth Hear Rate device and hence we cannot support them unless they change how they broadcast their data.

We do hope to integrate with other devices and will continue to work with the industry as best we can to integrate as many partners as possible, however we cannot, just yet, install FitBit's unique implementations.

    How about Garmin Di2 connectivity.

Just noticed it is not detected in available sensors

Um, DI2 is Shimano, not Garmin.

The data that may display on your Garmin computer is only available with the optional Shimano D-FLY module. Garmin is only a reader of that data.

    It's ANT+.

Sorry, I meant Shimano Di2,  I have the D-Fly module which is detected on my Garmin. Apparently Karoo is not tooled for it.

The "Garmin Temperature Sensor for The Fenix Outdoor Watch" watch is an ANT+ compatible device (https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5036-550/Tempe-Temperature-Sensor), but when I search for it in my Karoo, it does not list it as found??
