How can you add a 2 year long upvote for this much needed, some would argue, basic feature? Most annoying “bug” when riding

    Bump.

Any hope of an answer to this question?

I guess if they added an off switch it would imply there is something wrong with it

Yes, rerouting is the only function I hate on the device. Please please please

Yes, some kind of pride/losing face issue would be my first guess as well. Making rerouting optional should be pretty trivial so any kind of technical excuses (not that I think we have even heard any of those officially) would be a smokescreen at best.

Surprised to find rerouting cannot be turned off. Rerouting ruined the start of my tour participation (!) and wanted to prevent that from happening again tomorrow. All your comments in here give me little hope it'll show up in the product anytime soon.

I suppose that means i leave my Karoo 2 at home and will never buy the 3.

hi All, we are currently working on it and should be ready for the release in the next few weeks. This requires additional work towards the design and implementation, that matches overall and current product experience. We will let you know as soon as this has been shipped.

If you do a ride that you create a route from on the Dashboard and you still get rerouting occurring. Perhaps HH would really understand how bad the rerouting function is.

How much longer have we got to wait for a fix?

I too am not in love with the rerouting feature. On/off should be trivial to implement (I am a retired Android developer). In addition, I'd like to see another rerouting option: make U-turn to last valid position on route. I chose a specific route for a reason, I don't want an alternate route, I just want to be directed back to the point where I left the route.

Ali can you tell us when the "release in the next few weeks." will be?

1 month is more than few weeks or not?

Another software release but still nothing about rerouting. When will we see a change to this frustrating problem?

A setting to turn it off would be quick and easy, but even better would be 'backtrack'. When I go off route this is always what I want to do.

Just bought my Karoo 2 and was excited to receive it and start using it.

Until I started reading the threads on the latest UI update and this one on disabling rerouting.

Ali from Karoo promised an update would be rolled out 3 months ago and that he'd confirm when it occurs.

    And then crickets? Yikes.

I'm in software / systems development, and this isn't how I interact with my clients if I want to stay employed.

@ Mitchell Cohen. There is always the 45-day return option!

This isn't how any 'normal' company would behave either!

    @ Steve MacMillan

Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware of the 45-day return option.

Appreciate it as it will let me take time to see for myself whether I'm happy enough to keep it based on the Karoo 2 current state.

There's plenty of evidence on the forums that the major disconnect between Support and Product teams and between the Support team and the community won't change.
