As you know, Karoo 2 does not have ambient light sensor. We understand that this is an important feature for you but turning ON Adaptive brightness has proved to drain the battery at a higher pace and this is the reason why we have not added it on Karoo 2. That being said, I have shared your feedback with the Product team for further review.

Many thanks for the response. Like on the old Karoo, there could be an option to switch it on and off.

That's curious..  Adaptive brightness is normally there to help conserve battery by turning down the brightness when its not necessary.?  My previous cycling PC was slow (seconds) to change the brightness, which ends up being a good thing, when riding under trees on a bright sunny day, I wouldn't want the brightness to respond to every time the device is in the shade.  Is it not possible to tune the update frequency to have a balance in usability and battery consumption?

Yeah, I wonder if the polling rate on the light sensor was just way too high? No one needs their screen brightness to change more than maybe 0.2Hz?
