Auto-lap Function
PlannedI just received my Karoo 2 in the mail. Took it for a spin and it worked great. Setup was seamless.
How do I set the auto lap function? To trigger a lap after 5 miles, for example.

This seems like a feature that should be included in the most basic "bike computer". How can it be missing from the worlds finest cycling computer? This has come up in multiple threads over months. Disappointing that something simple like this is not on the roadmap and hasn't been delivered.

Auto-lap is definitely needed. When doing longer rides nobody wants to keep eyes glued to the screen to see when the lap distance is up. Imagine a 100 mile ride, eyeballing the distance so you can hit the lap button at every (1, 2, or 5) miles. To me this is sort of a deal-breaker. Just did a longer ride > 50 miles and no lap data. Very disappointed.

Please also be aware that autolap should be configurable on position, NOT ONLY a preconfigured time or distance. IE, I'm doing a crit race. I get a sighting lap, so I press the "lap" button on the start/finish line on my sighting lap, and I have "auto lap" enabled. I would expect the device to automatically update the lap counter, each time I cross the same logged position, until the activity stops.
PLEASE CAN WE HAVE IT SOON ! :D
Thanks, Si

I am truly getting pissed with K2 and no autolap function. People has been asking for it for over 6 months and all we get is "yes, we listen to you" type of resposne. . Yeah, I know if I duble click I can do it manually - I have heard that already. Tiny problem is that the same button works for zooming in and out map, so cheers to the genius who decided to intergrate those two functions into one button. My best result is after 5th attempt. Besides there is no point of discussing a basic function like autolap which device with that price tag simply should have. My patience is running low and although I am after 45 days free return date,; I am considering seliing it and getting wahoo or garmin.

I have to say I like the Karoo 2. Though still a lot functions are still missing like Auto-lap function. What I would like to know is how you progress on these improvements. So please communicate somehow on your development, you lack that big time now. At least you let your customer know you are working on it? I assume you work Agile right???

Jesse, that's exactly why I sent my K2 back within the 45-day return window - no auto-lap function, and seemingly no urgency to incorporate it. I sent my K2 back and got a Garmin 1030 plus for only $100 more, and I'm totally happy with the 1030. Unfortunate that Hammerhead isn't listening to users on this point.

Any news on this recently? One reason I want to move from Wahoo Elemnt to either Garmin or K2 is auto lap by GPS. Not distance, but GPS. Great feature for crit racers like myself. Even Road race, circuit races.
Not to have any lap features is crazy for a $400 device, like others have said. Let us know....great you have the return option, as that does allow us to check the device out... -
Hey Pedro. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Karoo 2 experience.
Currently, we do not have the auto lap function on the Karoo 2 unit. But we have ensured that mark laps at any time during a ride. You can choose from the different data fields underlaps while you go for your next ride.
Certainly, you can select the lap distance as the data field and with the press of button D (right bottom button), you can record the lap at 5 miles. You can do it only during the ride.

@RayGutt lap history is available in the drawer:

I received my K2 back in early March and started using it immediately. Lots of nice features and the potential seems limitless. However, I have to say that as a result of not having the auto lap function ( a basic feature in any Garmin} I put my K2 away and went back to my 520. The last thing one wants to do is do a manual lap when you are on the road. Safety being foremost in that desire and practicality being the other. If and when that happens I will happily go back to using the K2, but it's very disappointing that this is not currently available, and doesn't seem to be a priority.

First ride outdoors today with my new Karoo 2. It's an awesome piece of kit, I love it, and unsurprisingly a huge step up from my antique Garmin 800 that has served me so well for many, many years. Even that ancient thing has autolap, so it's a surprise that the K2 doesn't have this. It's a basic and useful feature which I hope will be added sooner rather than later, thanks.

is that real?
a lot of people said a function "auto lap" but hammerhead developer just planned for 10 months and do nothing?
it is not a special function, it is similar "equal" in a calculator. do you realy want click per 10km?
so. i have to click 10 times in a ride, 50 times in a month, 600 times in a year. thank a lot. -
Glad to see the dev's are listening to users. I wanted to get the K2 before I purchased the G530 I wanted the AutoLap by GEO for racing! I am considering selling my G530 now this feature is available...plus I just like the activity that happens on this new device....meaning all the new features and advancements of sorts.
