I see no mention of a fix for total ascent in new firmware update...

I do not think we are ever going to see this fix since it is probably hardware related.

The problem has been around for a while and it is quite a serious one...if there was a fix they would have introduced it by now instead of skirting around the issue continuosly

  It *is* a hardware problem.  If they could fix it they'd have done so long ago.

  Este problema es serio,no funciona nada bien.
  El mío tiene un mes y no hay manera de que sea real el ascenso,con lo cual, qué solución hay?
  No veo qué sea serio ,el venderlo,con este defecto

  I have been having the same issue.. it's been a problem... i wish i knew before i bought it.. can't train properly.. should have kept My garmin which never had any issues ..
