IMO there hasn't been much innovation since the introduction of predictive climber 20 months ago and we will never get the official Di2 feature back. Definitive and notable progression took a back step after the SRAM acquisition.

Maybe development efforts are focused on optimizing the software for the K3.

I am just offering up a possible reason for the poor updates over the last several months.

My opinion is the K2 was a bit of an experiment for HH that could have went two ways. It seems like some short comings in the hardware and the base operating system has resulted in limitations on what can be done with the K2. Generally speaking, tech holds up for an average of 3 years before showing its age. Some things last longer and others less. The K2 is likely at the end of what can be done with the unit. I am sure that this wasn't developed with known hardware limitations but here we are. Changing the internals would be a big stain on them and likley an end game move for HH due to all the units in use.

I moved on from the K2 and got a Garmin 1040. It's not perfect and has its own issues but the issues are easier to live with since the core functionality is pretty good. I actually use my K2 exclusively with my indoor trainer and run XERT on it. I would never buy a computer for this reason alone but it works great and I can easily pair all my sensors while using Zwift on my AppleTV for entertainment (the AppleTV is limited to 2 bluetooth connections).

I would not rule out a move back to a Karoo when/if new hardware is released but I don't think I will be an early adopter.

Why would I/You/Anyone buy a K2 knowing all the bugs and feature requests still out there on the K2?? I would not want to be forced to upgrade to a K3 to get less bugs and all the features we have been asking for the last 2-3 years..

Judging by the recent updates and the tenor of communication, I'd expect support for the K2 to end imminently, aside from sporadic bug fixes.

And they're now very late with introducing the K3, which doesn't necessarily bode too well for its software either.

this is all very strange since a big company like SRAM is behind it....

For me, update 1.320.1298 had the effect of Built-in GPS disappearing, so I'm still waiting for GPS to be restored, for over a year now.
