First, this solution is NOT for the common user. Of course Hammerhead should fix it in a proper way.
I had some random reboots and freezes. I don't know how many so I have counted that with an app "Restart counter". During the first night I counted 12 reboots.
That made me think. I remembered I added a pin protected sim card. And while riding I had some annoying popups to enter the pin. So my conclusion is the device 1) disconnects cellular (probably powersaving) and 2) connects because it want to send data. I don't have this of course when connected to wifi.
With a developer mind: some service, connections, android doze (and own powersaving). I thought that can cause too much connections, out of memory, etc.
So searching the device I found a service which got my attention. It's called "TelemetryService". I don't know what it does but I have a feeling ;-) It's used by different Karoo specific apps. So I disabled the service for the apps which uses it. After I did that and rebooting no issues so far. I did do some changes in settings like airplaine mode, sensors, wifi, cellular but that didn't matter.
What do you think about this?
