Sometimes downloads are queued due to wifi connection.

You can try putting your karoo in the flight modus and only enable the wifi. This speeds up the download proces.

    Good luck

Yes, it will prioritise downloading offline areas before offline routes. So you need to get the offline areas downloaded before you can sort out the routes. Unfortunately this is a very flaky process. As Egbert said, it's worth trying going into airplane mode and then turning on wifi - it sounds weird but it's helped a lot of people in the past.

    Egbert, Steve

thanks a lot for your help. I am trying to download the maps with the flight modus.

To HH people: the point is that I don't have no more time to wait for these downloads.

Tomorrrow morning, me and other 5 guys will start for our annual bicycle ride, a one-week long ride, and I absolutely need that my Karoo has all the necessary route and maps onboard.

Tired to be a free-of-charge beta tester, I am going to ask for the refound and also to setup again my old Garmin Touring Plus.

    Really really really frustrated....

Update: the off line maps downloads are getting "Server Error" messages

Unfortunately, as only 7 of the 30 topics on page 1 of the Tips & Troubleshooting page have been 'answered' by HH (some of which are over a couple of weeks old), you have less than 25% chance of getting an answer from them on here.

A direct email may be the way to go.

Good luck with your touring.  I'm off for a week touring Wales in a couple of months (Lon Las Cymru).

Sounds like there's something wrong with the HH servers, unfortunately. Keep trying and hopefully they'll get it fixed. I agree with Steve D that you should raise a support ticket (email support@hammerhead.io).

I have found disconnecting and reconnecting to my WIFI solves the "Server Error" issue when downloading offline maps. Not sure why, but the WIFI seems to hang on the Karoo when downloading large files like the maps.

Doing it ride per ride may also help. Just like your pc can slow down due to too many active programs, it seems logic that Karoo may have some difficulties in retrieving a whole week of long rides at once. I've experienced this too.

And totally panicing is usually not the right solution... I usually get there without the flight mode stuff, just some patience and by leaving the Karoo overnight in standby.

    @Steve Donovan.

I am just back from my touring. For some miracle all the downloads that were previously queud, decided to start the night before my departure. Most important, they also completed (less one)!

So I decided to start with the Karoo plus my Lezyne Super GPS, with the idea to use the Karoo for navigation only and the Lezyne for tracks recording.

Both the devices were paired with cardio and cadence sensors.

Here is a photo of my cockpit, including my HTC RE camera.

I must say that he experience with the Karoo was not that bad. The battery life, with the two sensors paired; the display light at a 15% (it is enought); an active SIM card (my B-plan...), was acceptable, around 8/10 hours.

HH must fix the turn-by-turn issue as soon as possible, so we can keep our eyes on the road and not on the display!

I have said "not that bad", but it is usefull to repeat that there are a lot of navigation functions still missing:

    - sound alert when approaching a turn is missing

    - Estimated Time Arrival is missing

    - Distance to Arrival is missing

    - Pop-up with auto zoom-in of the turn is missing

    - A zoomable altimetry graph with your position.

Last, Karoo says that one of seven tracks prepared on Strava (all done in the same way) is "without turn-by-turn instruction" , but I don't understand why and, most important, I don't know what to do.
