@Jim Knopf - May I know if the SIM is working fine on other devices?

Hi <H>.  If this post is 'answered', please confirm what the outcome of the issue was in order to inform/educate the wider community in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Or does the forum software simply automatically show 'answered' once someone from <H> replies on the post ?

Hi I think I have a very similar problem but I did not change anything in the cellular settings Ive had a vodaphone mobile broad band sim for about a month and at first all was well but now the cellular data setting is greyed out and I have no signal, im currently talking to voda phone to see if its a sim issue. not sure but im wondering if the last update broke something.

ok just run through a seriese of tests with vodaphone ( uk) and the sim card is confirmed as working correctly but the karoo does not seem to even recognise that there is a sim inserted in the device as there is no mobile signal and the cellular data settings are greyed out Ive just tried a factory reset and it still does not work seems that the last update might be to blame afterall :(

You might need to fiddle with exactly how the SIM card is sitting in the Karoo. Some users in the past have found issues with their Karoo.not seeing a SIM which appeared to be inserted ok.

If only it was possible to roll back software versions i could confirm this theory.

@Adrian - It is possible to flash an earlier version of the OS. If you know what you're doing, you could use one of the software images at https://karoousers.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=208

OK How foolish do I feel, after watching the the Karoo sim insertion video I realised my sim was in backwards and that the cut corner of the sim faces out from the device and not inwards, I must have put it in the wrong way at some point. so beware folks it is actually possible to put the sim in backwards unlike most phones these days were the port is shaped to stop that happening. so this problem is resolved now and its working fine thanks for the advice guys.
