@David Mast- You can reset the password from your Dashboard. This new password can be used to login to Karoo. Make sure you are using the same username to login on Karoo that you use on the Dashboard. If the username on Karoo and Dashboard are different, the routes and activities would not sync.

Also, keep your password simple (more than 6 characters) with alphabets and numbers as some of the special characters are not accepted in Karoo due to a software bug.

Ali, I have done this and continue to get the same messages [I have done a full reboot]. At this point in time I cannot log into my account from my head unit.

Referring to the message on the head unit, can you please confirm whether or not I need to use a password starting with an "alphabet" [poor use of English there by the way], or an alphanumeric [my current password starts with a numeral, and it does use an special character]. I think it may be the special character causing the problem.

Let me know; I know we can fix this and thanks ..

@David Mast - I will be taking this to our support system so that we can help you further getting this resolved.

David, if they find a fix for you please post!

I cannot log onto my head unit either.  Have already lost data trying a factory reset.   No password changing solution has yet worked.

    Thanks,

    Brian

Me too! Now locked out of the Karoo, and can't follow what happens when trying to reset my password on the dashboard. Yellow print is illegible and a pale red screen comes up but is also illegible. Does anyone check these links or messages?

I discovered my problem. I had been changing the password on this - the support - site. I assumed the dashboard password was the same and did not realize it wasn't also changing. Every time I typed theselected dashboard website it logged in so I assumed the password was changed there also.

Anyway - did another factory reset, selected "forgot password" on the dashboard site and changed it. I was then able to logon to the head unit. Allmy routes now sync as well.

@Brian Kennelly - The account for the community forum and dashboard are different, however you can use same username and password. Karoo would not allow you to reset the password, hence I request you to reset the password from the dashboard.

Once you click on forgot password you would get a link in your email, use the link to reset the password.

    Brian Dawson and Ali,

Thanks! That was also my assumption and my mistake. I have also now successfully changed my password on Dashboard and the Karoo. The issue arose when I logged out of the Karoo and attempted to log back in. I have done the factory reset and all routes and data are restored, but I still cannot download the routes I require offline. Karoo quits at partial % download and won't resume. Most of my rides are beyond cell coverage and I need the routes to function offline.

@Ali - I suggest that it's not a good idea to use the same password on the Dashboard/Karoo and the support site.

First of all, it's poor security practice. Secondly, this is likely to go wrong as soon as the password is changed on one of those sites, because by then the user may have forgotten that the logins are separate and be confused as to why one of their logins doesn't seem to work any longer.

Seeing as the Dashboard is for users/owners, why not a direct link from it to the support site and eliminate the need to sign-in separately?

@Steve and Brian - The reason why we have two different account is because there are other members who do not have a Hammerhead account on the dashboard, and hence for the members who have one have to maintain two different account right now.

I completely agree with you on this, having same password does not provide us right security for the accounts. It is a choice to set up a same password so that we do not get mixed up on that. But as you said it might get confusing as well when one of the password is changed.

I will certainly pass on these suggestions to try and simplify things related to sign in.
