Same frustrating story here. I have a trip tomorrow, but couldn't get the track loaded in over 5 days. The first of three offline map sections is at 48% now. Have to revert to paper maps. I don't understand how HH can prioritize a chrome plugin to get tracks on the dashboard if it's impossible to get them on the device.

regarding offlining maps, see <H> answer to a similar topic here: https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/360014348074/comments/360001492534

regarding "I don't understand how HH can prioritize a chrome plugin to get tracks on the dashboard if it's impossible to get them on the device", my guess is this could have been a side project a single person could have taken care of quite fast, while a bigger team is working on more time consuming, multiple weeks projects...

@Dieter & Wouter- I am sorry to see the struggle with loading the offline maps to Karoo, we are frustrated with these experience too.
The issue is been worked on and we have made a significant improvement regarding this.
    See: https://www.hammerhead.io/pages/karoo-support#change-log

As much as we would like you all to have the best experiences, your frustrations are rightly justified, apologies for the past failures and we really hope the next update would help us all in this.

@Dieter- With regards to your question on naming  "xyz" to "Karoo-Jul-08-2018-090xxx.fit.", The file which you downloaded was for the Activity you rode and has a standard naming convention on Karoo.

If you export your routes as GPX file, this would not change the name of the file.
See: Howto: Download a GPX file from dashboard

@Giles - Thanks for helping us with the link and you are correct in regards to question from Wouter. We have different teams that work on Dashboard and Karoo.

@Ali - I know that was the file for the activity. But on long journeys there are reasons why one deviates from the planned route. There are closed roads, weather reasons, catering reasons, repairs......
If I want to have the driven route as a gpx file, I have to save it as a route on the dashboard to download it as a gpx file. Then I delete it from the dashboard again, as well as the original file, because otherwise it gets confusing on the Karoo with too many routes. That's cumbersome.

I don't download my original gpx files from the dashboard because I don't create them on the dashboard as I wrote above. However, there are changes to the original tracks through the dashboard.

This workaround is not one, because it doesn't work either. I only have three routes on the Karoo. Two of them are available offline. Since 10 hours I try to load the maps of the third route offline (as described in the workaround). It won't work.

@Dieter- I am sorry and I could be wrong as well in understanding your concern, but could editing the name of the converted route on dashboard itself be helpful to you?

or Would you rather wish to download the GPX file from the activity, edit the name and upload as a route on the Dashboard?

With regards to offline maps, I would suggest while downloading the maps section, check if routes are not in progress or vice versa. If so, cancel one of them while downloading the other. Also, try to turn on the airplane mode.
Sorry to provide you with workarounds as this should not be so difficult for anyone, but this is until the next release as the development work is under testing right now.

@Ali- believe me, I tried all this (airplane mode, just one file at a time,....). I've been struggling for months to bring maps offline for my tours on the Karoo.
I haven't been successful in bringing all the maps I need to the Karoo.
I hope to be able to upload offline maps (e.g. Germany, Netherlands, Denmark or Europe) to my Karoo in two weeks.

I want to load gpx files directly to the Karoo and after the tour the driven track directly down.

@Dieter- I will have to take this to the support system to troubleshoot with you on this.

    Hello,

After the last software release 1.5.158.3, no improvements recognized here... downloading off-line map sections is still a terrible, not succesfull, effort. Stuck at 1% after 12 hours. Two Karoo's in use. Both not working... how long prosises in stead of results?

@Dieter - just side load in Osmand or Komoot and you can have large offline maps and use them for navigation. Osmand allows you to download entire states or provinces. Komoot maps are somewhat larger and the regions to download are therefore smaller.
