Hey Nathaniel, May I know if this was fixed by zooming into the map where you can then see the two adjacent paths?

No, zooming in did not separate the line into two paths.  The waypoint I was able to fix by zooming in was a place that veered off the path.  Otherwise, where the route overlaps, there's a single path that I can find no way of separating.

    Hi,

I also have this issue. I do a lot of race/mtb tours which are provide with a gpx file. In these cases I am not familiar with the route and whenever the route intersects with another part of the route I can't see which direction I have to go.

I have included an example below. Other bike navs use small arrowheads in the (red) line for the upcoming 500m or so to visually guide you in the right direction.Or am I missing something?

It doesn't help for setting waypoints but if you pop up the distance/elevation graph and then scroll along the graph it will show you the directions the route takes.  The black circle on the map and the black line on the graph shows where you're up to.  Also, the miles and elevation numbers reflect what mile you're up to in the route and the elevation at that point (note, it's not the # of feet you've ascended so far in the route, simply the absolute elevation - a bit misleading since the number shows the total ascent if you're not scrolling in the graph).
