Hi Ron - The release made the changes only for the "In-ride" battery consumption and we are looking on improving the idle state too. As of now, we can only suggest to shut down Karoo when not in use or turn off the wifi and location from settings.

    Thanks for the clarification

There should not be any battery drain issue in standby - what is it that you have the Karoo processing to cause this?!?

It's looking for sensors, for one thing.

@Steve - that was actually a comment that was directed toward Ali so we could understand what the issue is, but thanks for the reply. I may look at disabling the sensors between rides to see how the battery life holds up. As many current Karoo users, we have Garmin units that maintain battery life for days when in sleep mode.

Thanks Steve, and it is actually one of the reasons for battery drain in idle.

@Tom - Apart from the search for sensor there are other services running at the background which is causing the drain. Some of them would be Wifi radio, Location services map background update. The team has found the root cause and will be fixing them.

@Ali - I’m curious why all those battery draining services are running in the background while the Karoo is in sleep mode?? Can’t they simply be disabled through software programming once the Karoo is in sleep mode and not requiring them??

@Tom- Yes, it can be done. That's the work the software team is trying to find any such services so we can control the drain when on idle.
