Still the January 2019 SW-release contains the behaviour of the "battery drop rapidly from 30 to 0". Yesterday I experienced this while doing a Battery test.
After playing around with the PAGEs setup, I started a route from the couch inside without auto-pause enabled. I also started my stopwatch to see how long Battery would last this time.
After a few hours I went to a shop and took the Karoo with me. When I got back I put the Karoo on the table and there it stayed for another few hours.
.........than I noticed at around 30% percent Battery capacity indication, that this percentage started to drop rapidly. When I understood what was going on, I took my camera and shot photo´s, so you can the Percentage indication level compared to the time (24hours format).
All in all, starting at 90% and eventually 0%, my Karoo lasted 7 hours 45 minutes (see picture of stopwatch)
I hereby send you a list of pictures while Battery drop was happening. The last remaining percentage from 1% to 0% lasted 9 minutes. Which actually is okay, because times 10 means 90 minutes over 10%.
But the issue here is the very short time between 30% to 1% within only less than 10 minutes.
Than of course the Battery died at 0% and the final screen popped up: the Home Page with the yellow circle and biker inside.
When again reloaded fully to 100%, a day later I started the Karoo and it has indeed recovered my yesterday´s ride. That´s good.
But yet a screen popped up when Karoo was started showing "Unfortunately, HX Navigation Service has stopped." => see also a screenshot of it below.
And than I will skip a few photo´s for percentages 10% until 2%. And continue with the last 1% at 22:07 hours (where 16% was at 21:53 hours, so timeframe of 14 minutes for 15%)
the 1% battery indication lasted 7 to 8 minutes (see next picture and time of 22:14 hours)
And than at 22:15 the home screen popped up and seconds after that the Karoo died, because of 0% battery.
It run 7 hours and 45 minutes, however starting at 90%, because I used between 100% and 90% for playing around with the new software features and have not measured that time.
After recharching the Karoo´s battery and starting it up again it came with the following error-notification.
I clicked it away and actually it seemed all fine. The previous ride was recovered and could be found in the actiity list.
