Map is gone!

Oh goody, it gets even better!

I restarted again and tried going to routes - EVERYTHING IS QUEUED AGAIN!

Offline map sections - same thing!

The semi-good news is that TbT (such as it is) seems to be working and the route trace itself shows up on the map screen. There are no reference points, cross streets, or anything else - just the route trace on a grey background.

Why would everything that took forever to download before suddenly decide to download again? Is the lack of a downloaded map section of my locale the reason there's no map (even though the unit is online?)?

I guess I'll leave the silly thing  on the charger powered on all night & see if it manages to download everything. Again.

Ok, it turns out not to be an issue with the new update. Its the old data download queueing/interruption issue.

Apparently I chose the wrong option when the unit logged back into my account, causing it to attempt to re-download map sections and routes. Since there was no indication that the unit was attempting to download, I naturally kept turning it off after each ride. So after who knows how many interrupted downloads, the whole thing locked up with everything queued and "network error" - even when at 100% charge and connected to a stable, high speed wifi.

The fix is the same as always - delete all the offline map sections (again) and, presto!, the routes all start downloading. Switch all but one to offline, then add them one or two at a time so as not to clog the system. Once they're all available offline, go back and redefine and download offline map sections one or two at a time (again) and there's the map!

I'm glad the map is back. That the problem has existed so long that, once I figured out what it was, I knew the workaround by heart? - not so much.

Hey Ross, I am glad to hear you were able to find the workaround for offline map download problem.

We have notified the software team and they will get this checked, so you do not have to go through the same trouble again.
