Hello everyone. The team at Hammerhead has developed a new bracket design that we feel is truly best in class and represents the future of bracket technology. However, as cyclists we realize that our customers may have custom mounts, multiple bikes or other mount restrictions. To assure your Karoo 2 is backwards compatible, we will include a Garmin adapter as a thank you to each pre-order customer. Regular sale customers will be able to purchase more mounts or adapters when placing a final order.

I would like to know this too. DCRaimaker says it is included in his preview video as well.

HH has done the right thing in the past with providing bracket feet free on breakages, don't let us down on this! Most of us have more than one bike with a significant investment in quarter turn Garmin mounts.

I'm an early adopter for Karoo 1 and have placed a preorder on K2.

Garmin mount will be supplied with units ordered through the pre-order program. After the pre-order program the garmin mount will be optional extra.

Is there a way to buy more than one garmin adapter?  A few of us have "more than 2" bikes.

@Gregory Lonnon. While it would be nice to see the Garmin adapter and Karoo mounts in the Hammerhead store, you only need 1 Garmin adapter per K2. The adapter goes into the K2 itself, thus allowing you to attach it to all of your bikes equipped with Garmin mounts. (apologies if you own a K2 and already know this).

For what it is worth... I own a K2 and trust the security of the new Karoo 2 mounting system more than the Garmin 1/4 turn mount. Indisputably, the Garmin system is far more widely available and more universal, but the K2 mount feels more solidly connected. I would love to see more options of K2 mounts become available; for different shaped bars, for attaching to the stem, or a combo model with a Garmin mount or a GoPro mount on the bottom. If HH doesn't make them in the future, I would imagine that 3rd party vendors will make them once more Karoo 2's are in the wild.

Hammerhead folks will need to chime in on when the Garmin adapter and Karoo 2 mounts will be sold separately in the HH store.

    Cheers

@Tom, absolutely correct on the usage of the quarter-turn adapter. We are working on the mounts for the nonstandard handlebars. We will soon announce our work on this.

@all: You can use the quarter-turn adapter, which will be attached to the back of your Karoo 2, to mount your unit on the handlebar with different mounts. If you have multiple bikes, you need to detach your Karoo 2 unit from the mount from one bike to mount it to the other bike. This will be with ease as the quarter-turn adapter will still be attached to the back of your Karoo 2. You need not detach the mount from the bike to remove your unit.
