Speed with Powertap SL+
CompletedSince recent update my speed is erratic. While riding the speed will jump all over the place, 10mph will start reading 10mph then jump up 18mph then 30mph. The unit records the 30mph speed. If I turn of the power meter speeds are normal.
I replaced batteries in power meter, did a hard reboot on the Karoo 2 and manually set wheel size. I charged up my old Garmin 805 and the readings are normal.
My power meter is a Powertap SL+

I’m having the same issue with my powertapG3 the speed is way way too high , I’m getting spike up to 100kmph or not more which is ridiculous since I have to admit I don’t possess such power on my legs😂 nor the tour riders, cmon man fix this pls , problems after problems, this device isn’t cheap and I expect it to run without much issues.

I was hoping that the new update would help but no good. While it is impressive to see 40mph while peddling at 10 mph I still would like it fixed.
I went through this with the original KAROO, updates that caused new problems but they were small problems, but this is something that I can't ride with.I know we are riding with power meters that are not in production any more and we are a small number of riders, but I love my Zipp 808s with my SL+ PowerTap hub. That said I understand that this is a huge undertaking, even Garmin has some bugs with updates. I know that this is a new product and the company is working hard to fix everyones problem so I am trying my best to put on my happy face and wait for a fix.

Agreed. Went for a group ride and at the start, rolling though the parking lot my speed was significantly higher than reality (4 mph vs 23 mph). Made it out of the parking lot and the karoo said I was doing 50 mph (after just entering the road). I saw readings like 7 mph, 14 mph, 113 mph, 8 mph, 18 mph,... It seems there is 1 real reading and many incorrect ones follow. I too put in new batteries in the Powertap SL+, removed the device from the sensors page, changed the sensor priority, rebooted, etc. Nothing seems to fix it. We need this regression fix ASAP, otherwise the device isn't usable.

After some follow up with tech services the had me move the GPS sensor (Karoo) to the top of the page.
At this time it has fixed the problem, since my speed readings using the GPS only, were OK by moving the GPS to the top of the list I guess it uses the GPS for speed not the power meter. While this is just a work around as far as I am concerned, it does allow me to use the PowerTap meter again.
Thanks to Hari at tech support for the help.
