Pause ride + save battery?

I agree. The K2 should go in a low(er) power state when the screen is off and the route is paused.
On a ferry, or when walking outside with the K2 in my back pocket, the device is beeping like crazy...

I agree with the request to go into a lower power state while in a longer paused mode. I wonder if disabling the GPS sensor while on break would cut down on power usage. A hassle and you would need to remember to reactivate before riding again.

Indeed, the exaggerated battery consumption with the screen off and (verified) with all the sensors deactivated is excessive.
I have written a lot of emails to support and I have not gotten a valid answer, just reboot and reset the device infinite times.
The battery consumption is not uniform either, freshly charged in the first route you do normally has a lower consumption than in the successive ones.
No answer or solution from hammerhead.

I wonder why whether is it really necessary to lost a ride if you switch the unit off during the pause? Can't the unit just pick up where it left?

If you turn the unit off, it has to reload the route when back on.

I would like the screen off button to basically put it in sleep mode. Can mods explain the best way for us to put to sleep mode when having a break on bikepacking trips when battery is an issue.

I would also like battery saver to be improved as far as i can see it just turns the screen of during a ride which is rubbish when trying to navigate. Please advise.

I have asked for this (i.e. standby mode) as well, several times. It's beyond ridiculous that this most basic feature is still missing, but I guess the majority of users still just take their bike out for a single consecutive ride for a few hours?

I've noticed that Hammerhead are sponsoring Badlands, so maybe there is hope...

Drew U, you don’t know that you can switch off your Karoo without losing your ride now? Was implemented a few updates ago.

Sort of. The last time my Karoo restarted mid ride and I selected restore it corrupted the previous 30 miles of my ride.

I'd like this too, or for the device to just detect you haven't moved in awhile and put itself into a battery conserving mode. I was on a ride where we had a long stop and when we got going again my Karoo was dead.
