Routes vanish during rerouting since latest update
CompletedHi Team,
Thank you for all the hard work you are putting into the software for the Karoo - it really is such a great little device and it just keeps getting better and better.
I updated my K2 over the weekend to the latest version, 1.325.1326.12, and this has been installed without a problem. However, I do a lot of single-track routes and often my K2 with believe that I have gone off route and suggest a reroute for me. Several times during a five-hour trail ride the route just vanished and went into rerouting mode - so we stopped and reloaded our original route. We finally worked out that the original route came back as soon as it had worked out the rerouting, even though we never took the offered directions. It seems that the software temporarily stops showing you the original route while it thinks about the rerouting - and then it pops back up again.
I am not sure if you have had other people report this but worth checking out. As per this thread (https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/8754162274075) I wonder if you would consider the option of turning off re-routing for those riders who are out on the trails and the variation between the actual location and mapped location can be a little off.
Best wishes...
Peer.

Hi All,
We’ve fixed an issue (introduced in the latest release from September 8) that could cause the route line to disappear if you went off-route.
Thank you!

I had this happen to me last week (on the latest build) and I was really confused around what was happening and why the route magically disappeared and then reappeared when I got back on the planned route. I didn't really think much about it though because the re-routing feature on the Karoo is complete garbage (and that's being kind) and I always just ignore it's suggested route. Having an option to disable automatic rerouting is one of the most voted feature requests but it continues to be ignored by Hammerhead so I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

I had this happen in a race this past weekend. The course was changed slightly from the published route due to some construction and repaving. My route completely disappeared - which was quite concerning - and would reappear. Luckily there were markers and signage to keep us on the detour. Once back on the route it seemed like the route would pick back up but often the chevrons were the wrong color. I think what was happening is rerouting was trying to take me back to where it thought I left the course. It was wrong more than it was right. It was definitely a situation where I would turn off rerouting if given the option.

I had this several times on a ride tonight, the route just disappeared right when I needed it most, in an area of multiple paths with different rights of way etc. Really needs to be fixed so the route stays up no matter what because it could lead to dangerous situations. E.g. in bad weather finding a route out or in case of injury.

The original route remains in place now with the latest update - however it still reroutes even though i'm on the route itself.
and the worst part is the reroute is in bold RED line with the arrow chevron. The original route is in thin yellow with no chevrons.
it was confusing at best. the original route should be bold and with the chevrons vs the rerouting. or better yet have an option to disable rerouting?
suggested fix:
1 - UI - original route should still be in bold yellow with the chevrons and the reroute in thin red line so visually it's not dominating the map. Same with the directions - the priority should go to original route vs the reroute.
2 - rerouting logic - it is just horrible as it reroutes even when on the route itself. reroute should only kick in if truly off route! otherwise rerouting shouldn't be working at all.that would probably save the battery too if rerouting is working less often.
