You can add a route point in the middle of the ferry crossing, that should typically force the route to use the ferry. Like:

When importing a GPX file this may be somewhat harder to do...

Yeah, the dashboard still seems to give ferries too much of a route penalty to use them unless there really are no other alternatives even if that results in a loooong detour.

Hi All, this has been fixed at the backend, but has been planned to be released with the Map update in the next quarter.

I was beating my head against the ferry crossing issue earlier this week.  And it is now the next quarter.  Any update on when this will be available?

Gary, the fix had been provided backend in the Aug of last year, and was eventually rolled out with the Maps update on December 15th software release. Please make sure you have updated the maps and the software on your Karoo 2. If you still see issues, please share the images and errors with us in an email to support@hammerhead.io

ok, will send images.  There is a ferry in Newport Beach that Google knows about but doesn't show in either Hammerhead or RideWithGPS

You might want to check on Openstreetmap.org to see if it is in the map data in the first place (and add it there if you can figure out how).

Oh, and the dashboard route algorithm is still giving ferries a massive penalty:
