Power Meter for Karoo 2 and Di2 Ultegra
Does anyone know of a power meter that is compatible with Ultegra 8000 Di2 and the Karoo2? I had to send my Stages power meter back to the retailer because it was no longer compatible with the Karoo 2, due to Shimano's maneuver after the acquisition.

An innocent question from another Karoo 2 (still with the May 2022 firmware that supports Di2) / Ultegra Di2 owner but a total noob on power meters. What's the requirement for Di2 compatibility? In other words, as I understood it there's nothing stopping anyone with a mechanical groupset from adding a power meter so what technical twist does electronic shifting add to the mix? I was just looking at the Gen 3 Stages cranks online yesterday and thinking they might be the way to go.
Thanks for any clarification you can offer!

Thank you everyone for the responses. First time out, my Stages power meter was not showing up on K2. K2 just said "searching" and was not finding the sensor. I therefore assumed that Stages, like Di2, was no longer compatible. I will check or try again, given your comments. Hope you're all right!

Yeah, it’s something else. My top three guesses would be an empty battery, the ANT+/Bluetooth toggles are somehow switched off on your Karoo, or (if you are using Bluetooth) the PM already being connected to a different device. Maybe try to check if you can see the Stages with a different head unit or a smartphone?

I purchased and installed the Favero Assioma Uno last week (pedal-based PM). As stated above in this thread, the K2 picked up the transmission seamlessly - zero issues at all.
I'm a bit surprised that the Stages stopped working - I agree with the other commenters, I don't believe this and the Di2 are related. From my understanding, the only thing Shimano has retracted was the Di2 functionality with the K2. -
