Karoo 3
If Hammerhead needs to sell more units then it's time to start thinking about the Karoo 3.
So my question is, if Hammerhead offered the same trade-in deal as they did for the Karoo to Karoo 2 upgrade, what improvements would compel you to buy a Karoo 3??
(Assume that the already requested items have been fixed in the K2, such as Di2, disable rerouting, and my personal favorite distance to next POI, etc)
The biggest upgrade that would compel me to buy a K3 would be a major revamp of screen layout management. If I could design my own screens (even with a max of 2 columns x 5 rows) and arrange the 1/2 and full width fields in any order, and use any of the full width columns for graphics, and leave any of the fields blank,
.... And do it all with drag and drop, AND be able to do it on-the-fly during a ride, then I'm sold.
What big picture changes would tempt you to buy a Karoo 3?

The K3 is disappointing because it is still a made-up K2.
They have lost the opportunity to make a modern device, with a little more screen, fewer bezzels, and more current and efficient hardware than that toy QuadCore.
Regarding the battery, those grams that have reduced its weight could have been given in more battery, since it is still a weak point. The question is this. You take a K2, you give it 2.5 hours more real autonomy, you remove the matte finish that removed reflections but was horrible under the sun, and little else. And then you want us to pay €500 for hardware that you charged €250 1 year ago.
Marketing is not everything in this life.

Coros is a completely different approach to Karoo. Time will tell how it works for them with the final software and upcoming updates, but I don't think the Dura will be in the same league as the Karoo 3. It's just too different a concept.
Cora is primarily selling potential at the moment, but it's not dissimilar to the Karoo 3, which in my eyes currently doesn't justify the high price as it's not that different or new from the Karoo 2. But with the Karoo 3 new features could or will come that would not have been possible with the Karoo 2. So you pay for the potential and not for the state of the art.
So now we know what Hammerhead and Coros are offering with their new devices, both have in my eyes not justified the expectations that were made before their release. There could be a Garmin 1050 just around the corner and a new Wahoo should be out this year, it will be interesting to see if they will bring something really exciting new to the bike computer table.
