Feature request - bike mode option for re-routing

Looks like auto re-routing during a ride is not linked to any bike profile yet. There should be a pre-selectable bike profile which then dictates the road/track preferences used for auto re-routing. When riding a road bike, rerouting should not use MTB tracks and vice versa...
ROX12 uses routing algorithm depending on pre-selected profile which can be built separately for each bike type (preferences for using paved roads, tracks etc. can be selected by assigning them priorities ranging from 1 o 3 for re-routing).

I appreciate you for sharing your thought on the integration of bike profiles. Currently, we do not have the option to integrate bike profiles to view the road type and pathways during re-routing. However, you can see the road type as per the article (shared the link below) while you re-route to the original route or ride without the map.

I have updated my unit today and there is nothing about it.
I think that you should SERIOUSLY take this into account, not only answer that its in your plans.
Other brands had it implemented long time ago and it could make somebody think that HH is not serious enough with their buyers. Because, at least me, fell that you are doing nothig about we claim for.

Had a similar issue where I finished in a track that was even too steep for my MTB.
The routing profiles are quite complex and I can see that they need a lot of work - but there are examples out there ;) and maybe we could be offered a way to insert our own ... since I'm sure that they use the OCM routing feature, just with their own profile.

I can strongly support this issue for the request of different kind of re-routing options related to the riding types.
Today I made a longer road riding tour in an area I'm not so familiar with - and I was forced by some road maintenance works to go for another route as planed.
The re-routing from Karoo works really fast - this is great, but it always offered me routes through the woods what will be great with MTB or gravel bike but not for road bike!
At the end I was seriously lost and needed to get my mobile out and had to recalculate any re-routing by Komoot!
So, either Hammerhead gets a deal with Komoot running to have their app already on the app set installed on the device or, please, find a way of serious re-routing options!

+1 for this feature request for me too. Re-routing is very fast and no u-turns proposed but... if re-routing means dirt roads or national roads with dense car traffic, I say: no, thank you, I prefer to make an u-turn and go back to... Garmin 1030 plus. @Hammerhead, 4 months ago, you wrote:

I'm still within the 45 days risk free trial, and the lack of this kind of options for (re)routing on the fly, is a real dealbreaker, that makes me consider returning it - especially since it has been 4 months since the "immediate plans" were mentioned.
One of the reasons I bought the Karoo 2, is because multiple reviews mentioned maps/routing as much better as my Garmin 1030.
And indeed it does calculate new routes fast, but it's not fun to follow the re-route in unfamiliar areas, just to find out that a paved road turns into a dirt road, only to have to go back a couple of kilometers and find another way.
On the other hand, I would like dirt roads to be included when on my Gravel, so it should definitely be possible to set "road preferences" pr. profile.

Can anyone from Hammerhead give us an ETA for this please? I'm in my 45 day period and am really liking almost everything about the Karoo 2 (which I purchased as my Garmin 830 simply does not work properly and Garmin have been unwilling to rectify major issues)...but routing surface preferences could be a deal-breaker for me too...

+1 this added a bunch of time to a workday lunch ride when I missed a turn. Couple of k on the re-route turned out to be a goat track so had to double back and was late for a meeting. Have also been hosting rides with my boss and been messed around with the same issue. This really has been a huge problem for me both socially and for business.

Hi all. Same problem here, I couldn't belive it on my today's road ride, I thought it was a map error.. but not. I wanted to navigate to a point in order to shortcut my planned route, and karoo routed me over a 1.5 km track path with some gravel and little stones.., while existing asphalt alternatives. Also I had a bit of undesired fun (and happy for reach the end without problems 😅). I hope product managers decide to include it in an earlier update... 2 years of this basic feature petition... maybe too much.
