Minimap in turn-by-turn notifications
AnsweredHi,
As a 10+ year avid Garmin user, I just converted to Karoo 2 - great marketing guys ;) However, I do miss the basics of bike navigation: turn by turn directions WITH a mini-map!
Whatever screen you are on, when following a route, the TBT cues should also contain a mini-map with an enlarged view of the upcoming turn in detail. It would make your ride more safe because you can anticipate what's coming, as well as more fun because you have less missed turns.
Hoping you guys can add that to one of the next SW releases!
Keep up the great work!

Rapapongi - We have had a few other users requesting this and I have ensured in the past that this is added to our backlog. However, I would like to understand from you if auto-zoom on turns would benefit more than this or would you prefer both?

Thanks Ali for your quick response - In my view auto-zoom would be a great feature ... even for safety issues ... keeping the hands on the handlebar and the eyes on the street while focusing on the right turn.
Second, realy needful feature on the routing screen would be swaping the data fields per hand/buttons but keeping the map layout fixed.

It's the mini-map feature I was thinking of - that's what I miss from the Garmin, but auto-scale when in map view makes sense - really it's the same feature, a display of turn detail but you just happen to be on the map screen to start with. My vote would be for both if that's possible.

@Ali ... imo the K2 Software should alsways prioritise usability, fast reaction and safety ... those are real USP for us speedy cyclists ;-) . God, the Android platform makes it possible.
In case of swaping the data fields while keeping the map fixed during a ride ... have a look to the Komoot UI

Map auto appearing for turn directions is a must have, today you are making me take my hand of the handlebars to swipe, the last place I want to remove my hands off the handlebars is when I'm about to make a turn, I want to brake, change gear and turn, also... of course... sometimes I need to raise my hand to indicate I am turning, and you guys are making me one extra thing I don't want to, it is safely, zoom in is also a good feature, but I would settle for the map auto appearing and disappearing just like Garmin does is a must have, sometimes the directions wrong !!
