Feature request: Average Speed - Total Time and Ride Time fields

Hi, 

I am presuming the current "Average Speed" data field is just average riding speed and ignores paused time. The above two separate average speed data fields would be helpful. When doing Audax we have a  total time average speed we need to meet and so an average time including stops is important data, aswell as average moving speed.

  Thanks, Justin. I will surely go ahead and add this on the list of Data-field that intend to implement on Karoo soon.

  On a second thought, I believe you are referring to 'Avg Speed' field specially derived from these values. or just these fields. In that case, we do have the Total time, Ride time and Paused time. The average speed field currently excludes the paused time.

  That’s great. FYI the fields are named “Speed - Moving Avg” and
  “Speed - Overall “. on my old etrex

  Ali, I am pretty sure OP understood all of that, but it doesn't give him what he needs - an average speed field that doesn't exclude paused time. Probably don't want to be pulling out the calculator in the middle of a ride to determine that average speed based on your total time field.

  Hi. I’m not aware that this has been implemented yet Ali? I don’t know what the usual timescales are but this would be super useful to have soon. The Audax season is starting in earnest, I have a “Super Randonneur” season in my sights, and the “Average Speed including stopped time, ie average total running time” function would be really helpful. Doing mental arithmetic 500k into a ride can be a bit painful!

  Loving the general interface changes recently.

  Mark, I'm a bit pessimistic about this happening. The focus on the development seems to be more now on performance integrations etc. Its a shame because I think they are missing a trick; long distance and adventure cycling is only growing. Now that rides can be "resumed" after shut down this feature would be even more valuable. Good luck with LEL!

  Hi Hammerhead. This year is Paris-Brest-Paris year! This is a great opportunity to get this feature up and running for all those qualifying rides.

  To refresh; please could we have a data field which gives the average speed for a whole ride, including paused time. In Audax we have to stay above an average total speed, including breaks, of say 15KMH. With average speed at the moment it omits paused time, whereas we need paused time included in the calculation. 

  Does Hammerhead have any plans to do this? A couple years ago it sounded like it was on the list. Thanks

  +1 - This is a really key feature for anyone doing Audaxes and is a useful metric regardless. I believe it's available on Garmin and Wahoo. So Hammerhead please don't alienate this group. Please review and give us a safe timeline to look forward to.
