    The only comparison that makes sense is towards PR (PR of friend) or KOM, really. What you are suggesting doesn't even make sense. Not to mention uselessness of it. Imagine you are on longer segment with a lot variability in steepness. Of course your speed varies a lot on that. So basically the estimated time would be calculated based on (remaining distance) / (your current speed)

    But again, it is useless parameter IMO.

    Yes indeed this what i proposed (and how it is calculated on Garmin edge devices) : it should indeed obviously not be calculated based on average speed but on the time remaining of the virtual racer .

    Indeed, on my Garmin 530 the Strava segments have an estimated time left as an option.
