Hey Eduard, this is certainly something that we are looking to have in the future. We prioritize each feature based on the number of user requests, impact on current customer base, usability, market value etc. We are already looking into various e-bike integrations, but currently, no timeline isn’t available for us to share.

I would love to see an integration with specialized (Turbo Creo Expert in my case)!

Even if the initial integration didnt provide control of the e-bike features, being able to display battery level and support level would be of great value.

I already integrated a number of sensors from the Specialized Levo to the Karoo 2, whereby Speed, Power and Cadence is being transmitted. However, Battery Percentage would be key. Unfortunately this is not a sensor that can be detected and added easily so it has to be read via Bluetooth from the Levo. One of my training challenges is to try to achieve 1km per 1% Battery and this would be a game changer for me instead of waiting for 10% bar to sync.

Integration of battery status level would be possible with the existing ANT+ connection. For Garmin devices an individual developer has coded a very solid datafield that taps into that data. Easiest path for hammerhead would be to just hand over some small cash and let him develop the integration for Karoo which would make many Turbo users really happy. :-)

Hi there - I’ve just got the Karoo 2 for my Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Carbon and I’m using it as a 45 day trial effectively v my Garmin 1000 Edge and all the Garmin’s that people have in my MTB riding group. Overall I’m pretty impressed (work wise I’m a Tech CEO) but please please guys get integration with the battery readings for percentage remaining.

For my group I got the app referred to above and plotted it to data fields on all our Garmin’s. We all recently had TrailWatts Boosters fitted so I’ve also configured it to read the main battery (either 500 or 700w) and the Booster (252w). If you could get the same functionality on the Karoo 2 for Specialized ebikes you’d really be killing it!!! My whole Grouop would probably all order the day after you announced it. it really is the one big downside over moving from Garmin if you own a Specialized ebike, you can even side load their Mission Control app and I can verify that works on the Karoo 2 but you do need an internet connection to use different riding profiles.

Please Hammerhead get this done asap and promote it everywhere because whilst it works on the Garmin’s you need a reasonable level of technical skill to set it up, especially for reading the Booster Battery!!

I agree with all the above comments as I, too, ride an e-bike (Orbea with Ant+ LEV output available).  I love my Karoo2 and would love it even more with e-bike integration!

Me too!!  Specialized Turbo Creo.  All I need is battery level (and assist level is nice but not crucial).  Ant+ LEV seems the way and I agree - just ask http://ebikeapp.jancapek.cz/ to do it if you haven't the time.

Please guys get this done for Specialized ebikes (MTB and Road) - you'd be miles ahead of Garmin. I clearly have a Karoo2  but I ride my Turbo Levo with a a Group of 8 or so and they all have Garmin's. Do this and you'd have 8 more buyers of the Karoo2 !!!

This ability would really perfect my Karoo 2. The only reason I still need to use my old TCD is to accurately tell me the bike's Battery level. 'Assist' mode, would be nice to set as a data field too, but battery level is the really useful one.

Please try and get this working, the unit is so great in every other way.

Couldn't agree more it's the one thing the Garmin does better i.e. you can use it to check your battery levels on an e-bike especially the Specialized MTB's and Road bikes. A relatively small thing that would be amazing for the ever growing e-bike community!!

I can already use it for Cadence on the Karoo 2 connected to me Turbo Levo so why not the battery level!!!!

I wholeheartedly agree with Simon.  This is only thing really lacking with the Karoo 2.

I ride a Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp E5 and it would be great to have as many E-Bike stats available to view on my K2. Like others battery % would be #1, thank you.

Same as all the above... I'd buy one and sell my wahoo on a split second. Battery %, assist mode and current gear for my SRAM axs gx

Can someone at Hammerhead provide an update on thus request? There’s clearly a lot of interest. Thanks.

Hi David, Thanks for driving this conversation. We know there's a demand for this feature, and plan to include it on the Karoo at some point. However, there is no plan to add this to the Karoo software in the near term, but we are looking into this possibility in a long term.

That's encouraging news, but disappointing at the same time to hear that it will be a "long term" possibility.  I now have 2 GPS units on my handlebar: The Karoo2 plus my semi-retired Wahoo Elemnt Bolt that very nicely displays my E-bike parameters.  The setup is awkward, but I guess I will have to deal with it for the foreseeable future.

Thanks, Ali, for your quick response.  This is sort of the same answer as 7 months ago.  Could you be more specific about defining long term?  Are we talking weeks? months? years?  Thanks!

Hi David, I would love to provide a date if we knew we would be accomplishing it by then. At this time, we can only say it as a probability by mid-2022.

Hi, please have this done!! I have to have 2 units on my Levo as my Karoo won’t display battery level😞

The Karoo team have said we have to wait until at least Summer next year, it's a shame as Garmin and Wahoo have been able to do this for quite a while now I believe.

This is such a shame as frankly my group of 8 MTB Specialized Turbo Levo riders would all change tomorrow from their Garmin's but they don't want to have to pay £85 for the Specialized unit that they'd only use to display the battery percentage which they get on their Garmin's now but wouldn't with a Karoo 2 purchase right now!!

This is exactly what I have to do currently. Fortunately I already had the TCD for my Levo, but it is annoying that it is only there to show me the bike's battery %. It seems like it shouldn't be that difficult a feature to add seeing as the TCD can pick up the Battery % using ANT+.

I agree with you and also of course the Karoo 2 can pick up cadence from the bike via a connection so what not battery power?

Yes, this is a real shame.  We know it is possible on wahoo and garmin.  And, 3rd party apps for garmin too.  If programming resources are the issue, why not contract with the guy who wrote the 3rd party app for garmin?  Hammerhead is missing a big opportunity here.

Work wise I'm a Tech CEO and yes I agree - Garmin did their own thing and then that guy also wrote a 3rd party app for the Garmin in his spare time that offered even more functionality and fields that could be mapped!! If one developer can do that in their spare time then Hammerhead with their resources shouldn't take long and it's Android for goodness sake not legacy Garmin!!!

Just think of the market this would open up with ebikes it would be a P1 for me but them I'm biased!!

What about sideloading the Specialized Mission Control or BLEvo apps onto the Karoo?
