Sensor precedence: Power + cadence vs sensor speed + cadence like gsc10

Hi

 

I'm running a setup with powermeter (with cadence) and combined speed/cadence sensor.

Unless I put powermeter in higher position then speed/cadence sensor, the cadence is read from speed/cadence sensor and is always zero. Is there any reason for such behavior?

 

I guess in the past it was fixed and cadence from powermeter was always used independently of the sensor order

  Hi Evgeni, this is as per the expected behavior and I assume this is mostly an issue during the indoor rides.

  I disagree, If I run powermeter, then it usually provides cadence. Why should the system use cadence from combined speed/cadence sensor?

   

  I dont throw speed/cadence sensor when I buy powermeter, but I remove cadence magnet from crank, so for me it is obviuos that powermeter cadence should be used.

  Yes, removing the magnet don't really make a difference here as the sensor itself broadcast itself as the source (even with no data). We know it is not perfect yet, but with ride specific profiles and bike profile this can be better.
