I kindly disagree. With all due respect, you are overthinking this problem. How else would you want to turn it off? This is how it works on phone basically, regardless of how often you power off/on the device.

As a matter of fact, on my Garmin Edge unit it the on/off procedure works exactly the same way = long press button to power on, and long press button and confirm "yes" to power if off.

If only this was the only issue this device has. Not to mention this isn't issue at all :)

Sorry, finding it annoying is "overthinking" ?

How else would you want to turn it off?

A normal long press (same length as required to zoom in/out or get the app menu up), followed by confirmation click.

This is how it works on phone basically, regardless of how often you power off/on the device.

On a phone, it makes sense to make the "off" feature hard to access, because you hardly ever use it.  On a bike computer it's a normal, once per ride action.

You're right that Garmin has similar, although I don't think Garmin is a good reference point for good UI design!  The Garmin doesn't require such an excessively long first press, but (on the Edge 820 at least) it requires confirmation via the touchscreen which means you can't turn it off at all whilst wearing thick gloves.  If I wanted a lousy UI, I'd have stuck with my Garmin!

Not to mention this isn't issue at all

I'm glad it doesn't bother you.  I find it annoying that it requires such a long press.

I did say that it was a minor issue, but I suspect that it's also trivial to change.

So you're worried about saving a second or two at the end of a ride, when turning the device off?

I don't mind waiting that extra second or two, particularly if it's the difference between bringing up the shutdown screen.

To save more time, the programmers should design other more useful things, like a "Calibrate Power Meter" prompt or swap the lap button to the RHS where you can access it easily, and make the pause button less easy to bump

Very pleased to see that this has been addressed in the latest release.

Yes, it was a minor annoyance, but it was a minor annoyance on every ride.

The last two software updates have been great.

I am a newbie Hammerhead user. Is there a setting that automatically powers down the Karoo2 after a ride is completed? I see this feature on some other devices (Polar being one) and it's quite handy. The Polar powers itself down something like 15 minutes after an activity is completed, assuming there has been no further interaction with the device during the interim. This ensures that the athlete doesn't wake up the next day to find zero battery simply because the athlete did not remember to manually power the device down. Anyway, would be interested in the opinion of this group and, of course, if that feature exists on the Karoo2, would value someone identifying it for me. Thanks.

If I'm not wrong, there is timeout of 2 hours after which Karoo turns off. It's not dependent whether you completed activity or not. If you just turn it on and then don't touch for those 2 hours, it turns off.
