Hi Bart, Thank you for bringing this into the discussion. We do not have immediate plans for it now, but it does exist on our backlog. We will continue to monitor this post for engagement from other community members that helps us in prioritising any new request.

I think a bike alarm is a good feature to have. The device is loud enough to cause some attention at least and is better than nothing.

+1 to prioritise this. With more bicycle theft and cafe not allowing bikes into their premises, such a feature will be most useful.

+1 It Doesn't look complicated to do and its a very useful feature!

Ontop of this K2 has cellular connectivity that can unit/bike location if alerted. No other brand has a cellular modem included and this can be a good usecase for it

The others have it so some may look at the K2 and see it as minus and hell some may use it.
Practically though I suspect more won't leave the unit on the bike if it's out of sight. The buzzer isn't really loud enough to act as a serious alarm so for me, is easily removed or turned off! So, whilst it could do it. it'll never be anywhere as good as a smart tag or one of those dedicated things which are basically expensive smart tags

Other than the buzzer, the unit should also ping the owner on the mobile phone. Take a look at how Garmin works and you’ll understand

Not if it's not on the bike or it's turned off/taken off.

I would love an alarm feature available for the Karoo 2. I am switching form an edge 1030 to Karoo 2 so I wonder how the potential of cellular data could potentially make this an even better feature than what I have experienced with my older Garmin.

Perhaps for the Dutch (or European) users it would be helpful, since our coffee stops are small and often close to where the bike is. So a little alarm could help a lot , even if your sitting 20 meters form your bike. Much relaxter coffee stops ! Go for the alarm !

Can this be added yet? I see it's an old request - surely a rather simple development?
This is one of the biggest things I see stopping me from selling my Garmin 1040 - I might have to hang on to it for now for certain rides.
