Silicone bumper case?
AnsweredSo Hammerhead, are you going to supply us with a silicone case for the K2, or do we have to go with the Garmin Edge Explorer silicone case that are reported to work with the K2?
I`m about to order one for my unit, but it would be much nicer with a case that is made for the K2 so all the buttons, alnyard and charge.plug works as it should do...

Hey Jonas,
Thanks for the suggestion! This is an understandable request.
We have designed the Karoo 2 to be robust enough to be used without a silicone case & have not forged into the territory of designing our own. We would like to expand on existing products through accessories but at this time have not.
Please do keep an eye out for any future changes!
Thanks.

It might be robust enough to not break, but some people care about keeping a £350 product in a pristine condition.
Make some licence agreement with Otterbox or Tusita or one of the million companies making silicon cases for Garmin products.
Make a bit of money + have something for your customers to buy to keep their expensive bike toy in a decent condition.

Although the elasticated lanyard is a welcome improvement on the previous K1 lanyard, it also increases the likelihood of accidentally launching the Karoo across the garage when fitting and removing it to the bike, before and after each ride.
Extra care needs to be taken to prevent this from happening and a silicone case seems like a sensible accessory for HH to market.
Although I guess if you don't make one, somebody else will...

When Hammerhead doesn`t deliver, Garmin does, also installed a screen protector to keep the screen from scratches. Feels like a cheap insuranse with around 12$ for the silicone case and 9$ for three screen protectors...
Had to do a small cutout in the bottom to get the lanyard and charging plug to fit...
The screen protector is not installed in the pictures, it`s the shipping screen protector that still is on in the pic...

@newK Are you asking for the karoo2 or karoo3? "Tuff Luv" is offering cases for both devices. I am using one for the karoo 3 and I have no problems with it, works as expected, just make sure to buy the second version (V2), the first version was hiding a small part of the screen, which made the swipe-down a bit unrealiable sometimes. But V2 does not have this issue anymore, so I can totally recommend it.
But you need to check if it's available at your location, it's shipped from great britain, I paid around 20 euro on amazon (DE) for it (shipping included) -
Another vote for Tuff Luv, been using one for a couple of years on the K2 and it still looks like new. Complimented with a glass screen protector but won't comment on that as it's a personal choice whether you want a reflecting but clearer screen or a matte, slightly less contrast screen.
