Perhaps not the solution you are looking for, but instead of connecting Komoot and rwgpw to you Hammerhead account you can also manually download GPX routes from both websites. This would require you to download the route to your laptop / phone and import it manually in the HH dashboard.

This is the method I use for the occasional download from both sites, as I don't want to have the accounts connected.

That can indeed work but again is extra steps that it feels wouldn't be needed if a simple flag was set against the accounts to mark some for uploading Rides to (and routes) and keep the others connected just for Route Syncing. It would make it feel slicker to my mind. Routes would sync automatically still from the planning type platforms and Rides would sync to the Analysis Platforms.

This is something HH needs to add. I think they need to fix the root of the problem, and you should choose the purpose of the connected account, when you're linking the account.

Annoyingly this tends to come from having to create an account with RWGPS just to download publicly available routes, which again makes no sense, but that's another issue I guess

You can simply just "unchek" koomot and RWGPS icon from ride summary and that's it. It will upload only on Strava.

    Hey All,

Thanks for weighing in your insights here :)

While our goal is to have customizability, it can also be a quite challenge in certain areas such as this. Every customization on the software adds a level of complexity to testing every condition. We do our best in implementing and developing features that can be ideal for every rider and this where sometimes we find the middle ground such as how we choose to have the rides uploaded.

As a workaround @mathew, I would suggest you can turn off the auto-upload and manually only check Strava during the ride review screen, this does at least save you time for unchecking all the other connected accounts you have your karoo :)

    @ Akhil,

    • Dashboard and Karoo have the option <Ride Upload Mode> Automatic or Manual.
    • If 'Manual' Ride Upload - is activated -  manual upload 'per ride' (in my case) to Strava is available / works. If not - ride is only save at HH Dashbord.
    • But -> If 'Automatic' Ride Upload Mode is activated - this can be skipped 'per ride' !
-> Users may overlook this option because it's out of sight ;-| <-

At the end of the ride - you will get a screen - for personalize the ride Name | Description | Ride Type.
It's not immediately visible - but by swiping upwards it appears that there is more information (from the screen) you will get to see 'Connected accounts' displayed with Logo. For me - it's Strava.
By clicking on the Strava Logo - I deactivate the automatic upload process for this ride (Logo get grey out) Now no upload to Strava takes place. So you can ignore your preference every now and then :-)

Right now the ride end screen does not show immediately <Connected Accounts>
-> Only by using your intuition - to swipe - you become aware that this option exists.

    Suggestions Hammerhead Support:

    1. Adjust the screen design so that the 'Connected accounts' (their logo(s)) come visible on the Karoo End Ride screen / when you end a ride.
    2. Or (best of 2 worlds) make it possible to offer End Ride Uploads in the End Ride screen with radio buttons. Less hassle and clearer. Looks like a Win Win :-)
