Battery Save Mode Effectiveness

I use the battery save mode on my K2 for most rides, not because I need to but because I prefer to only have my computer screen on when I need it for an upcoming turn, a Radar alert or a phone notification. Most of my routes have a lot of turns, so my K2 does wake up quite often. I also have it paired to an external Bluetooth speaker for audio navigation instructions and alerts. Using it that way, my K2 uses about 6% per hour with the screen brightness set to 50%.

On your bike packing trip, you will probably want to charge your K2 overnight.

Thank Johnny. I currently use about 10-11% per hour with 70% brightness and display always on. I was hoping that battery save mode would reduce burn to maybe 3-4% per hour. I plan on taking an external battery pack to charge at night!

I did a 152 mile partial gravel ride last month, total ride time 9:16, elapsed time 11:14. Run route and HR, Screen fully down and still had 50% left when I got home.

Should be good for about 22hrs.

I would echo what Derbyshire Pantani has said, done a few 11hr+ elapsed time days with 2 sensors, map with sounds and also using a SIM card no problem at all.

If you need the device for navigation the screen wakes up on turning points which makes it nice and easy to use.
