Live Segments - am I missing something?

I heard a lot of good things about the Karoo 2 Strava Live Segment integration in a lot of pre-purchase reviews but, after using the device, I'm left underwhelmed and long for the simplicity of my Garmin 1000. The whole display seems too busy and difficult to decipher whilst riding. There are small numbers and icons everywhere on the live segment overlay. 

All I want to do is compete against my own best times, not wolves or carrots, and that's a metric I just can't see on the overlay.

Am I missing something?

    Thanks, yes I disabled (one by one) all the extraneous animals and vegetables but the display is still unreadable (unusable). A complete mess in fact and a possible deal breaker for me. I really want to love the device but the SLS implementation is horrid.

    Even with everything but my own time disabled, I had four icons floating around and arrows everywhere. I really don't want to be struggling to see tiny icons whilst going full gas. Just give me the time ahead or behind!

    I second this. It may look nice in product videos but while racing at your limit you don't want to read tiny numbers and decipher lots of icons. I wish there was at least the possibility to set default values for all starred segments instead of changing them one by one. (I personally don't care about wolves and often the KOM is unreachable, therefore for this neither.) One suggestion is to just display a very big number (seconds ahead / behind PR for example) if you swipe the drawer fully up - there is so much unused space in that view. Then the normal screen could remain untouched until a new UI is found that most people like or which can be configured according to one's own wishes.

    We continue to work to meet the needs of the community with SLS. We do monitor these comments and the suggestions submitted to support and share those with our Product Team. It continues to be a highly debated feature, and one we continue to work on and improve.

    A few months have passed now so I assume the Hammerhead guys are happy with their implementation of live segments? Personally, I still hate it and, whenever somebody asks about my device, the live segment display is definitely one of the "negatives" (amongst a lot of positives) that I make them aware of.

    Please, please simplify the SLS display!

    Today I rode my first Strava segment with my new Karoo 2. During the ride there is to much information on the screen en the colors make it just worse. I subscribe the criticism about the SLS display and hope that it wil be changed.
