Incorrect GPS location by 100's of miles

Hi,

I just received my Karoo 2 as a first time user.

when starting with OR without a route, choosing a default profile or a self made one; the map takes me to salford, Manchester in the UK.

I am based a few hundred miles away from here so unsure whats wrong.

the location "arrow/cursor" is static as well and doesnt rotate with the device.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks

  It appears, if i wait long enough, the gps works as intended. on preview of the profile before starting, the gps icon is red. it takes anywhere from 2-5 minutes, longer if under any form of shade/tree. is this normal?

  Hi Jack,

  Welcome to the Hammerhead Community!

  Suggest you check a couple of things:

  1. Make sure that the Built-in GPS sensor has not been accidentally disabled:
     
     
     
  2. Also worth checking Location is enabled under Settings:
     
     

  Then make sure you are either outdoors or by a window to ensure the device is able to get a GPS fix.

  If all else fails, then I suggest you do a factory reset. Let us know how you get on.

  Thanks Steve will try a reset and see what happens
