Is there a way to prevent the Karoo2 from using mobile data to automatically download firmware updates? It sucked over 500 MB data during one day and I was not even life tracking. The only thing that comes to my mind is that at the end of my ride the firmware update hot fix was presented for installation … That‘s not what I want to pay the provider for …

  Okay, I think I might have found it by myself. Under cellular data -> Data Usage I see the System Update. There I can prevent Background data usage … I did not realize that Data usage acts as a button to reveal more options because it shows already information (data usage) to me …

  An other option is to unselect the automatic update feature. You will still get a notification about a new version being available, but you'll have to manually initiate the download / install.

  Hi Marco,

  You can block background data, but I personally prefer to do as Michiel suggests and turn off automatic updates. That way it can notify you to download it when you are ready. Updates typically download very quickly over wifi so it is not a big wait. I hope that helps!
