    Do you need the distance to next turn to be shown all the time? Without it, I at least have no wasted space like in your first example.

    For me, data fields at the top/bottom mainly depends on whether I want the actual navigation cues to cover the data fields (yes please) or a part of the map (no thanks, navigation especially in connection with complex road layouts is a big reason why I have the map visible in the first place).

    @Larey I also tried to put the data fields at top, and there is a black band that I don't understand and a lot of the map is lost, too...

    @Anna The data fields that I have put in the photo are examples of the gears and the distance to the destination. But if I want, for example, to take heart rate and power, or any other data, numer of laps, etc... that's what the option is for. For me those data fields are important, and in fact there is an option for it, for a reason.

    I'm just saying that if you navigate a track you waste unnecessary space. The same as if you put the 2 data fields above, which puts a small black stripe that doesn't make sense. Seems like a layaut flaw.
