When doing a long ride will a power bank plugged in help extend the life time of a single recorded ride?

  Yeah, works just fine, I have even used the Karoo lanyard wrapped around the handlebar to hold a small powerbank in place (no problem as long as the road is smooth). If using an out-front mount, just make sure there is space enough for your USB cable between the Karoo and the stem. (I finally got some very short cables with a slim 90-degree head for this...)
