How much data does K2 send? (also, Freedompop)

I've been using the Freedompop SIM to send my location to my contact. Early on, the 25 MB/month plan seemed to be adequate. More recently, I would get a notification that I had blown by that, and auto-upped to their 500 MB plan, and in less than 2 additional weeks of riding seemed to eat that.

So EITHER the amount of data that the K2 is sending is increasing, OR Freedompop is lying about how much data I'm using, or somehow the K2 is sending data when it's turned off (the # of hours monthly I'm riding is roughly the same from the time I started using the K2 until today).

Anyone have an answer about either of the above? Particularly curious if there are other Freedompop users and their experience.

Lee, it would be helpful to have more specifics. How much data? And is the SIM from Freedompop, or someone else?

I have a Freedompop SIM and my K2 has used 15.81 MB of data in six rides with location sharing turned on. The 15.81 MB number is from my Freedompop account page. My K2 is showing 16.32 MB used in settings, for the same period.

How much data does K2 send? (also, Freedompop)
