Enable SDK for Karoo (3)
Dear Hammerhead,
Can you please enable the SDK for the new Karoo (3) like you did for 1 and 2 before?!
It’s extremely important for most of us who’re riding our bikes with other groupsets like your mother company provides…
Most of us made you big with purchasing version 1 and version 2 and it would be a very well appreciated move if you prioritise this point on your list.
Please always remember who supported you all the years - it’s us, your community!

We recognize that many of our community members are looking forward to the release of an SDK for Karoo. An SDK is required for developers to create 3rd party apps and plugins to integrate with the Karoo OS. Our Software and Product teams are reviewing this project to determine the best way forward. We do not have any timelines as of yet as it is an ongoing project, but we hope to have more information to share on this topic soon.

I fully agree that this SDK availability is a crucial aspect. I was very surprised that the SDK is not available for the Karoo 3, while it was for the previous versions.
Basically, this renders the device very less interesting for all Di2 users because using Ki2 is now impossible... probably have to return my device now and wait until the SDK is finally available... what a bummer! :(

Yes, please SRAM/Hammerhead, update the SDK and really importantly, make it work with the new Karoo (3) - otherwise developers and customers are blocked from unleashing the potential of Karoo (3)!
Ki2 is a must have on the new Karoo - I'll have to send my unit back if I can't enable this functionality. :-(

As a longtime Karoo 2 user and software developer currently waiting for my new Karoo to arrive, I'll strongly consider returning the unit unless we get a firm commitment from Hammerhead to deliver a working SDK that will allow us to use previously developed Karoo apps on the new Karoo.

Sad, but true… ordered my unit 10minutes after the curtain was lifted… and now having the same situation like most of us…! Returning the (otherwise) excellent device?
Most annoying thing is that I have the feeling (from support-mails) that HH/SRAM obviously don’t know how important it is for us! - it’s a safety feature anyways! I don’t want to move my hands from my handlebars…
If HH still didn’t manage requests like (since over 2 yrs by the way):
- crash detection
- reminder function (eat/service etc)
…
Then please listen to us this time! -

I have been a proud customer, happily using my Karoo 2 with the Ki2 app alongside my Di2 for quite some time now. I was excited to order the new Karoo 3, but fortunately (!!!!), I found this thread before placing my order. I would never have imagined that the Ki2 app wouldn't work with the new model, especially since it has been working perfectly on my Karoo 2.
I will not be ordering the Karoo 3 until this issue is resolved. If my Karoo 2 now breaks, I may have to switch to a Garmin device, even if it is otherwise inferior…
