Karoo - transfer route without internet?

Is it possible to transfer a route/gpx-file from my smartphone to the Karoo (aka Karoo 3) WITHOUT a internet connection?

The dashboard synchronization works pretty well, BUT if I am somewhere in the mountains without mobile network available, I see no way to transfer a route to the Karoo

  Hi Michael, yes you can via Bluetooth on Phone and Karoo. Its described on the article here: https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/25476943333275-Companion-App-Uploads-and-Syncing

  You need companion app on your phone to work with this.

  Hi Ali

  Thank you for the fast response, didn't knew that feature, just tried it: the transfer per android companion app works nicely, BUT only when there is a internet connection.

  If the phone is connected via bluetooth to the Karoo an the phone has internet access
  ==> OK

  If the phone is connected via bluetooth to the Karoo an the phone has NO internet access
  ==> ERROR: "Transfer failed please check your phone's internet connection"

  There is no possibility to load gpx via Bluetooth from Companion App to Karoo without a internet connection. The smartphone need to be online and have internet connection.

  It would be good, if Hammerhead could correct this irritating passage in their help article. I mean they know it since 5 months that it is not working the way it is implied there.

  I think there's no chance of that. I don't understand why the manufacturer is so stubborn if people want this feature. Just look through the threads on this forum.

  With the latest software release it finally works the way it is described in the help article. No WIFi needed, just an active mobile internet connection. Before I was not able to send routes or addresses without WIFI via the Companion App to the Karoo. Now it seems to work even when the Companion App is not opened at my phone.

  Still have to test, if it is also working when the mobile internet connection is low and slow (EDGE).

  But it's a step in the right direction.

  @Ali, why this topic is marked as "complete"? It is not true! If you do not know Karoo + CompanionApp please test it! Please turn off WiFi, turn off mobile data transfer and try to transfer gpx route from Companion App to Karoo. Please do it and give here step by step manual or change status from "complete" to "HH cannot do it".
