    I don't think it's possible based on the profile, it's just possible in the navigation screen itself by clicking on the arrow on the  ̶b̶o̶t̶t̶o̶m̶ ̶l̶e̶f̶t̶ upper right (see Annas comment below), so you might need to click on it once on every ride to change it. And it probably needs an active gps signal, so trying it at home might not work, if you are inside

    Tap on the compass arrow in the top right corner of the map. Unfortunately there is no feedback anymore (the arrow stays there either way, earlier it used to disappear for north-up) so you can only see the difference when you are moving (and if you are going straight heading north, not even then), because the map defaults to north-up when you are not moving (not having a GPS signal counts as not moving ofc).

    And yes, unfortunately you have to do it every single time you start an activity, which is a total pain in the saddle contact points especially when wearing full-finger gloves with unknown touchscreen capabilities.

    Thanks, Anna.  Your input is way more helpful than the user interface!  I love this device.  It's surprising that they have done such a poor job with the map controls.
