Lower right button rattle.. K3
The lower right button on my Karoo 3 is loose and rattles. It rattles if you shake the device gently and annoyingly rattles loud enough that it can be heard on the bike. If you press against it gently with your finger you can see the movement. If you touch the button or the case immediately surrounding the button it stops.
Anyone else's do this?

The buttons on my device were a bit wobbly in general, which left a cheap impression. My fix was to buy a silicon case for the K3 (around 20 dollar/euro.. shipping might depend on your location), this fixates the buttons, so there is absolutely no wobbling anymore. Of course not the most satisfying solution to spend further money, but if it annoys you a lot, maybe it's worth it to make it stop + it gives some protection, if you drop the device accidentally (no scratches = better selling price later)

New device has arrived (very quickly I might add - thanks) and while it is slightly better the button still rattles. It has the feel of a low quality device with cheap plastics except that it's £450!!! Fairly major design or QC issue...
@ali - what do you think? Another replacement?

I have had three replacement units now but all have the same fault. Not sure what SRAM/Hammerhead plan to do about this though as it's clearly not an isolated incident.
I cannot complain about the service I have received from Ashish in Hammerhead support though - it's been outstanding.

My support ticket has been closed as I have had 3 replacement devices all with the same issue. Not sure what they plan to do about it. There was talk of a replacement button but no timeline for that. Support were very helpful in trying different replacements however but unfortunately I still have a very annoying rattle…

All 4 are loose for me, but 'only' 3 rattle. Outdoor ride in the next couple of days to test it out.
Can you remove the outer case as with the K2? If so, a drop of something like super glue on the inside of the buttons on the case (and let dry) would plug the gap and presumably kill the play -
I think I am becoming increasingly frustrated. Recently, I noticed a rattling sound coming from the Karoo/mount area. After hours of thorough investigation, I was unable to identify any issues with the bike that could be causing this rattling or the mount, it was only when the Karoo was mounted (and it sets rock solid in that mount). I then removed the Karoo from the mount and began shaking it, which revealed that the sound was coming from the upper right button. It is looser than the other buttons, and it is clearly the source of the noise when I ride over bumps.
I subsequently tested a new device, which initially had minimal rattling, but the sound gradually returned. After three Karoo devices, I encountered the same issue each time.
I absolutely love the Karoo. After many years with Garmin, this has been a wonderful experience. Now we just need some reliable buttons!
This is the exact sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UrWWa2Vq8I
I have created a support ticket.

Have there been any actions taken to improve the button rattle issue in the meantime? Today, I briefly tested a friend’s K3 device, as I was considering an upgrade, and the button rattle was the first thing I noticed. I used to have the same issue with my old Garmin Edge 1000, and it drove me nuts—it could only be fixed by using a rubber case. I think I would prefer to wait with my purchase until the issue has been resolved. Simply exchanging units surely cannot be a long-term solution.

Rattling button elimination: both right hand side buttons:
I had my unit replaced once and that didn’t solve the rattling problem.
My Solution: electrical tape over 2mm of the front of each button, works as a damper, does not interfere with button functionality or haptics, no more rattling, 95% of the button area has no tape on it and it’s almost invisible.
