Hi all,

I upload a new version of Vin Hammerhead Karoo Extension. User manual updated here:

HkE provides several alerts types.  By time, calories, max power or max hear rate. Provides graphics widgets for power, heart rate, calories, power balance and pit board. Pit board is a easy to use functionality for receive small information from a remote web client and be able to choose an answer from up 3 diferent options while riding. See user manual to know more.

I am working now in ride start-stop automatic messages to pit board and a virtual partner widget. 

Still is a beta phase. Please, be patient if found any bug and report.

    Diferents and separate options for your customizations. Lucy and Leonardo are more restrictive in layout selection.

    and is there a manual where I can see what I can customize?

    You can add a lot off custom fields, and define different groups of when to use in your karoo profiles.

    Hello, thanks for the quick reply.

    After a few resets, VinHKE is working.

    But there's one problem: Is it possible to display data from other extensions, such as KI2 ?

    Hi!
    Im new in Karoo world. Trying to use VinHke datafields. I took cadence in on on the datafield in „Vanesa Field”. It works while Im pedaling. When I stop it shows me last value recorded, for example 28. Never get 0 while Im not pedaling. It must be somewhere configured or its a bug?

    When I take cadence field directly on karoo menu (not using VinHke fields) it works fine

    Es posible ver en un campo la potencia objetivo del siguiente intervalo? No sé si la API lo permite, lo veo necesario y no hay un campo nativo pero en la pantalla del workout sí que están esos datos.

    Hola Mikel,

    el API actual no incluye ese campo como seleccionable. En su momento se lo solicité a HH pero no han hecho nada que yo sepa de momento. Lo volveré a revisar a ver.

    ¿Has probado a usa la ventana de workout específica de VinHkE? Se integra con Vinapp y ahí sí que se muestra la potencia objetivo, entre otras cosas.

    The current API does not include that field as selectable. I asked HH about it at the time, but they haven't done anything that I know of so far. I will check it again to see. Have you tried using the specific workout window of VinHkE? It integrates with Vinapp and there it does show the target power, among other things.

    Hello - would it be possible to have a customizable climber graph that allows users to choose the colors for specific grade ranges. My HH seems to very rarely show red even when grades are 10% or greater. Thanks

    Yes, vin hke allows a diffetenr grade colors. More human!

    In your preferences set climber color chart to HKE and put a HkE grade field in your preferred profile page.

    Hello, thanks for your app. I am currently struggling to get activity calories for apple health from my Karoo and found that vinhke has an option for calories calculation with HR data. I used it during a ride but the value cannot be found in the ride data or the fit file I downloaded from the ride. Can you help?

    Hello.

    I use several features of your extension and find them very useful, including the pit board.

    I wanted to ask if you think it's possible to control a function in the extension to answer incoming calls, with messages we've previously defined. For example: I'm on a route, I'll call you as soon as I finish.

    I'm asking because the answering system may be the same or similar to the pit board.

    Hi Mattes. excuse me, I did not notice your message. In the latest releases of Vin HkE total calories is sent to hammerhead system and save in yout .fit file. Strava shows it in his activity sumary.

    Hi, I saw the total calories in the fit file but I use Healthfit which expects activity calories. I also asked their developer and total calories does not work for this goal unfortunately. Thanks anyway I use it to create messages for eating on the ride.

    I've had the Hammerhead Karoo 3 for a few weeks, and I'm coming from iGPSport, and I miss some of the data I had in iGPSport. That's why I found your extension and I found it very useful and excellent for customizing the various profiles. But I would like to have more data available to put in your customizable profiles, such as max heart rate, max speed, ride time, etc...

    Hola Isaac, we could add unlimited fields, but that would make the setup a bit tedious. The idea of ​​HkE custom-fields is useful for displaying a few screens, or even just one, with relevant instantaneous activity condensed information.

    Fields like maximum speed or maximum heart rate should be configured on a separate screen with standard fields. Including those fields in custom-hke-fields would only complicate the setup and make the device work unnecessarily.

    In any case, think it through carefully and make a list of the fields that are most important to you, and I'll see if I can add them.

    Hello,
    Since a few month I have trouble with one Custom-Field. Depending on used profile I use nearly all custom fields which are really usefull and a great enhancement.

    Since a few months I'm facing an issue with "Elev. Remaining" which won't be shown anymore and I have no glue the reason behind.

    Thanks for your assistance and any kind of comments how to solve it.

    This data is provided by the karoo engine, not calculated bu HkE. I will check if something was changed and HkE needs any adjusting. Thanks for reporting.

    I have the same problem with remaining elevation and custom fields. If I use a normal karoo data field it displays remaining elevation.

    It seems to be an extension error in version 1.1.7. I have opened an issue: https://github.com/hammerheadnav/karoo-ext/issues/71

    At current version, the ELEMATION_REMAINING data flow does not appear in stream exposed by the extensions. I upgraded Vin HkE to new core release, but the issue persist. I am waiting to hammertead response to the opened issue.

    I found the problem.

    Until now Elevation remaining data went in FIELD_ELEVATION_REMAINING_ID attribute, but now it is found at FIELD_ASCENT_REMAINING_ID attribute.

    Is a hammerhead extension library bug but I can develop a WA.

    Upgrade Vin HkE to a new release (1.7.9) and ascent remaining data will work again.

    Hi vin, I'm finding it a challenge to update to new app version. I press UPDATE button on screen, however it says installing, but the the UPDATE button reappears. Help appreciated 👍🏼

    Solved Marcus. It was an issue in manifest.json file, with version code.
