Dear all, I would like to introduce an extension that allows you to have a virtual power meter and use all the power fields in the Karoo.

This extension for Karoo devices adds a device simulates a virtual power meter. You only need to add this power meter (settings -> sensors) and you can use all power fields.

Compatible with Karoo 2 and Karoo 3 devices running Karoo OS version 1.524.2003 and later.

  Loaded it today and tried it out. Power numbers were very high using defaults provided, unfortunately I couldn’t find any documentation to adjust the input parameters. For example:
  1. Is the “bike weight” field in lbs or kg? And how can the user tell, or change the units? Also there is no field for rider weight, so should I add that to “bike weight”?
  2. Does Kpower use wind info from the Windsock app?
  3. Does Kpower use gradient info from the Karoo? And cadence data from a cadence meter?
  4. What is “Cdr” ? Is that the same as Cda?
  From my limited test it seems like Kpower overly emphasizes speed and doesn’t factor gradient in enough. And I have no idea if it’s even taking wind into account.
