Effect to send SMS

Hi,

I'm developing an extension for the Karoo that sends an SMS to a chosen recipient at the start or end of a ride. On the Karoo 2 with a SIM card, I use Android's SmsManager, and it works fine. However, on the Karoo 3, there is no SIM card. Is it possible to add an effect in the karoo-ext library to send an SMS through the paired phone?
