I use di2stats.com, create an account and upload a .fit file. the data you can see is quite extensive, even a heatmap of what gear ratios were used where and when on a route

Jim, thanks for the info. Where do I find the FIT file? Is it buried in the Karoo 2?

    No problem :)

It's not buried, if connected via USB the Activities folder is easy to find in the file structure but it's way easier than that. On your Karoo Dashboard (website dashboard) inside your Rides section (and the Recent Rides section of the Home screen) expand the 3 dots to the right of the activity box. "Download FIT" will be shown

Hi Jim, thanks again for the additional info. I was able to download the FIT file into di2stats but no shifting information was available. Since I can see the shift info when riding the bike is there something else I need to do the store the shifting information? TIA, Tom

Nothing extra to store the info that I'm aware of, the shifts are baked into the .fit. I thought there was a toggle setting in the Sensors list but can't find anything related to that on my K2 and the Ki2 extension only has "Record ANT Communication", which I have set to off.

It has to be the Karoo's own .fit downloaded from the dashboard or the unit, not from a 3rd party like Strava or anything - which I just tried and had a blank screen. That's the only time I have had no info.

I guess another obvious thing is to not have any browser plugins disabling content, the likes of uBlock etc can block cosmetic formatting and images from displaying.

My latest ride below, uploaded successfully, no unusual problems as has been since I started using it a few years ago.

I just loaded another ride into di2stats and again the shift info is not present while speed, elevation, heart rate, cadence, power are available. One thing I did notice is that the bar across the top says ‘Loading ride data, please be patient’ and never goes away no mater how long I wait. Am I just being impatient. Are you using a PC or an Apple product? I’m using an iPad. Could this be an issue? TIA, Tom.

After reading part of the Help section on their website a question has occurred to me. Are you running 12-speed?

I ask because the website states 'prerequisites for obtaining shifting data are' :

    • you must ALSO have the D-Fly attachment installed if you are using Shimano Di2.

I have this wireless module because I'm running 11-speed but this is not required on 12-speed as Bluetooth/ANT is now built-in out of the box so you get connectivity to your head unit and shift data without this hardware. The website makes no reference to updates regarding 12-speed compatibility. If you don't have this module but the website needs it to read the D-Fly's data in the .fit file this could be the reason why you can see shift metrics on your Karoo but not the website.

If this is the case I don't know how you would get the shift data out of the .fit file without a D-Fly module recording it (I did not know the module had this purpose)

Where to go from here? There's a contact email address on the website, brtoone@samford.edu maybe that can help.

Jim, thanks for being patient with me. My drive train is all Di2 11 speed. My derailleur is RD-RX817 and the front is FD-R8050. My wireless module is a EW-WU111. In E-Tube my shifters are labeled as D-Fly. Is there a separate D-Fly attachment I am missing? I side loaded K2 to my Karoo 2 and my shifts are displayed numerically, graphically, and in an animation cartoon. The section in the Karoo to capture shifts has been selected. Any thoughts?
