    Hi Eric,

Garmin Edge Remote control was specifically designed to interface wirelessly with the Garmin Edge series. Currently, we do not have immediate plans to implement this feature. That being said, we will consider exploring a feature like this in Karoo as per the number of feedback and feature requests that we are getting.

Thnx for the quick reply. A "feature like this" means HH comes up with a own piece of hardware?

I’m interested as well, a way to switch between screens without leaving handlebar is really interesting

Sorry to get back you so late. This is not actually an hardware integration but a software integration with Garmin. We do not have a dedicated timeline for the implementation of this feature as of now.

I am sorry to hear that. In MTB it is important to have your hands on the handlebars, compatibility with this command does not seem very expensive to develop, basically take advantage of the same thing that di2 allows

I'm in the 90 day trial, I will try to write to karoo, the remote control is important for me

I join the requesters. This would be a appreciated feature! Actually, I do not touch my Edge 1030 anymore on tour since I mounted this remote control. :)

Seems to be a good accessory.

I find the buttons stiff and often the touch screen requires distracting focus for anything other than screen swap when in motion.

This would be useful for lap marking

Just want to chime in here that getting support for a good remote (Garmin Edge remote would be convenient since that's what I have mounted to my bikes) is really important to me to make the Karoo a competitive alternative to Garmin.

A good remote makes it easy and convenient to aggressively use multiple screens of a feature-rich cyclecomputer. If I have to take my hands off the bars for every screen switch, I'm more likely to leave the basic data screen up almost all the time and I'll just receive less benefit/value from the computer. It's in everyone's best interest to make screen switching as easy as shifting gears.

Think of it this way - retro-aesthetic crowd aside, nobody wants to buy bikes with downtube shifters. Modern cyclecomputers should be the same way.

The karoo may have the most sensitive touch screen, in winter with thick gloves, in summer or HT with sweaty fingers it is more than usefull having a remote close to the handlebars. On a safety point of view it is a must have too. Still for a couple of weeks sticking with garmin edge (and their remote control). I understand it might be complicate/impossible to adapt the garmin remote so i would be ready buying any new remote compatible with the Karoo.

Plus when the buttons are stiff , enough pressure is put on them to rotate the K1 in its mount.

It presents a good opportunity to test the tether attachment and the Gorilla Glass for durability.

Only one of my road bikes has di2. To be able to use my ANT+ Garmin Edge Remote with my Karoo2 would be great on my MTBs

I will add my vote to this. I have a Di2 road bike and an MTB on which I use the Garmin remote. I would be happy to purchase a dedicated remote and even happier if my Garmin remote worked with the Hammerhead 2. On MTB I do not want to be reaching to the computer to change screens etc.

Have a look on titan lab : https://titan-lab-inc.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/kommander

i have been using it for few weeks. It does the job as a di2 button emulator. I use the specific mount that came with on my mtb flat bars, or simply an o ring to fix keep it in between the two buttons on the hoods for gravel/road bike.

it won’t get any award for its actual design but it is convenient with gloves and let your hands on safety position

@Emanuele - there is Di2 integration that does that already on the Karoo

    https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/360051706614-Shimano-Di2-integration

I haven't got a Garmin (much less a remote control), but the current Karoo integration seems to cover all the functions of the Garmin remote except for the programmable 'soft key', through the Di2 shifter top buttons.

@Davide Levi  But not for non Di2 remote use.

Yep, looks like the features could be there, but the ANT+ standards (from BigG)  fallout into proprietary  programming ( look at the light control issue  =:-(   ).

The Garmin Remote is $50. The Di2 , somewhat more, though I have seen it as low as $1600.

Fair enough. However, you'll have to admit that a Di2 groupset does a few more things than a remote control.😉

Hello waiting for my Karoo 2 to arrive, I know that a not too expensive remote control (Ant+ or  bluetooth) would be very appreciated.

Is there any news on that on Karoo side? How can I vote for this feature?

    Thanks

    Nicolas

We do need this feature. I've got Di2 on one bike and the remote control of screen paging on the Hammerhead Karoo 2 is a great feature. Something I am now missing on my other bikes.

Now Di2 integration will end this week:
Hammerhead please help us asap with a remote control.

I think that thanks to Shimano's revenge (they did not appreciate Sram's move), we will finally have our HammeRemote

Hammerhead... Any updates here? Please do a poll between multiple user requested options and many of the ongoing software updates that are kow priority. Arguably this is moe important as a safety feature and many of the recent software feature adds

They are with the "new UI" Really, so many things to improve, and something that works destroys it.

Another +1 for this. A remote would really improve user experience. I rarely touched the screen on my Garmin Edge- much easier and safer (gloves, rain, hills, etc)

Same here, remote buttons would be very appreciated (own product or Garmin edge remote support) and of course DI2 support for using the Shimano buttons.
