Feature Request: Remaining Ascent
CompletedWould it be possible to have a field with remaining ascent when following a route? It would be useful to show how much more pain you have to go through!
Cheers.

Hi All,
We’ve added three new graphical data fields for those of you who ride with a route: Distance Remaining, Ascent Remaining, and a combined field with both of those in one.
Thank you!

IMO this feature would be "nice to have" but definitely NOT a deal breaker (for me). I myself ride a hilly routes pretty often and never really felt the need to be aware of the Remaining Ascent tbh.
Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that this is a feature with minor impact to Karoo usability. And I'd rather HH team to focus on other more important things :)

Martin... I am totally with you... it’s a nice to have... but seriously can‘t be to tricky IF the dashboard routing wouldn’t be so inaccurate regarding the elevation... dashboard says 1300m to climb, but in reality it’s only 780m... or 800m and and in reality it is 390m... somehow there must be a bug in the dashboard planing as it’s very often times 2 compared to reality... therefore also this remaining elevation does not really makes sense...
Anyway... Martin what do you think would be good features to see next with K2???

@Andi
If I appreciated anything climbing related, then it's feature similar to Garmin Climb Pro...on which there is already request in this forum.
And AAMOF that feature also displays remaining ascent BUT only in terms of the currently being ridden climb. That is for sure much more useful than knowing I still have 1500 m to climb on my 150 km trip.

Hey All. I really appreciate the discussion on the elevation,
As a rider myself, I would like to see the upcoming elevation data on the unit. This would let me plan my effort and energy to save or use while I ride ahead on the route. How I plan is by seeing the graphical representation of upcoming elevation. This gives me a sense of what is the next terrain on the route is going to be. If it is downhill, I use this to let me leg skip pedalling and store the energy for the ascent. I am sure the graphical representation of upcoming elevation would help you plan your ride as well.
I agree that we do not have a numerical data field which shows the elevation data for the part of the route ahead. But certainly, with the upcoming elevation graph, you will be able to view the ascent or descent accordingly. Let me know if that helps while we take the request to our Product team to discuss this.

Helo all
I do not hav computer yet, but I have some questions and thoughts.
1. I think that remaining ascent (in numbers) is necessary and all big players have it (Suunto, Garmin). Very welcome would be remaining ascent for current hill, if not remaininng ascent for all remaining hills
2. I noticed that dashboard recalcute ascent after importing from route from strava and add aprox 50% more meters. Can you disable that. Strava is the ONLY app which shows CORRECT ascent when creating route
3. Abhishek, you mentioned graphical representation (upcoming elevation graph) of remaining ascent. I thought that that is already implemented in current SW?

I want to revive the topic again ;-)
I always found it great with my old Garmin to have this field 'still to be mastered uphill meters'. Especially on long tours with up to 2,500 m altitude it is good to know how much altitude you have to drive until the end of the tour and you can better adjust to it ...
... JUST DO IT ...

While its nice to have as an option, for me it's not imperative to know ascent left on route...I can always work that out from ascent climbed from total ascent. But to have ascent left on the current climb...now THAT is useful to me.
I suppose K2 would have to recognise in its software - you are on a climb that began here and ends there - which sounds simple but is essentially Climb Pro - the current big deal feature of the top end Garmins.
So I imagine it's not as easy to write algorithms as none techies might think, maybe.
Would be nice for both data fields to be available to those that want them.
